  • Patent number: 10946428
Abstract: A spinning apparatus for decreasing by spinning a thickness of a portion of a tube material having a uniform thickness except at a first axial end portion is disclosed. The spinning apparatus includes a spindle-side chuck having a conical concavity and a mandrel. The mandrel has a mandrel-side chuck formed in a form of a conical convexity corresponding in configuration to the conical concavity of the spindle-side chuck and a cylindrical portion for supporting the tube material. The spinning apparatus further includes a spinning roll for decreasing the thickness of the tube material by pressing the spinning roll against the tube material when the tube material is supported by the cylindrical portion of the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 7060174
Abstract: A method for electrochemical synthesis of a superconducting boron compound MgB2 which comprises the steps of preparing a powder mixture of magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and magnesium borate, drying the mixture by electrical heating at a temperature of 400° C. or below under an inert gas atmosphere, and further heating the mixture electrically at a temperature of 400° C. or above so that it is melted and undergoes chemical reaction.

  • Patent number: 5947175
Abstract: A multi-piece rim includes a lock ring and a gutter band having a lock ring groove. The lock ring groove includes a bottom surface, axially inboard and outboard curved surfaces connected to opposite ends of the bottom surface, and axially inboard and outboard side surfaces connected to the axially inboard and outboard curved surfaces. A lock ring escaping groove is formed at a transition point from the axially outboard curved surface to the axially outboard side surface and a surface portion adjacent to the transition point. The lock ring escaping groove is recessed in a direction away from the lock ring.

  • Patent number: 5465598
Abstract: An annular member is placed on a forming profile of a convex die without fixing the annular member to the convex die. Then, the convex die is moved toward a concave die which has an axis inclining with respect to an axis of the convex die. When the convex die is moved toward the concave die, the concave die is revolved around the axis of the convex die. The concave die does not revolve about its own axis. Revolving the concave die around the axis of the convex die may be replaced by forcibly rotating the convex die about its own axis. When a compression load is imposed on the annular member, opposed ends of the annular member are formed simultaneously.
