    Abstract: An electromagnetic switch has a movable contact and a stationary contact accommodated and sealed in a container of a given shape. In the container, there are provided at the axial top and bottom of the container, meander venting paths for communicating the inside of the container with surrounding atmosphere. The ventilation of the inside of the container is thus effectively attained by the meander paths so that the formation of ice on the stationary contact can be prevented.
