  • Patent number: 7597200
Abstract: An apparatus for formation of a course of fibrous materials on a perforated forming wire mesh with an underlying suction box and an overlying fiber distribution box, in which a pair of rotating, perforated drum cylinders are provided for the delivery of a stream of air-fluidised fiber, which is then flung out down on to the wire mesh by the drawing-down of air by the suction box from the upper end of the distribution box, cover plates (18) is arranged at a distance below the upper level of the drum cylinders, which plates substantially shield-off the free flow of air down through the vertical spaces between the drums themselves and between the drums and the adjacent side walls of the distribution box.

  • Patent number: 7331089
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for use in dry forming a fabric by at least two non-woven fabrics. The upper run of the transfer wire is used as a forming wire. A forming head is disposed above the transfer wire. An airlaid non-woven fabric is formed on the transfer wire. This non-woven fabric is carried with the transfer wire onto the top side of the first non-woven fabric. The first non-woven fabric is formed on a preceding forming wire and transferred by the transfer wire to a subsequent conveying wire. This subsequent conveying wire can also be a forming wire so further non-woven fabric can be formed before the fabric is consolidated, e.g. by hydroentanglement or latex bonding/fibre bonding.

  • Publication number: 20030010683
Abstract: In dry-distribution plants for the formation of a course of fibrous materials on a perforated forming wire mesh with an underlying suction box and an overlying fibre distribution box, in which a pair of rotating, perforated drum cylinders are provided for the delivery of a stream of air-fluidised fibre, which is then flung out down on to the wire mesh by the drawing-down of air by the suction box from the upper end of the distribution box, problems have been experienced with regard to the formation of clumps of fibre material on the outer side of the drum cylinders and the inside of the distribution box.
