  • Publication number: 20080014476
Abstract: A fuel cell-based system includes an electromechanical pressure relief system to prevent an overpressure condition from damaging the anode circuit of a fuel cell stack or creating a hazardous environment. Upon detection of a fuel flow pressure in a fuel path between a fuel source and the fuel cell stack, the pressure relief system isolates the anode circuit from the fuel path, vents the fuel flow, and shuts down the fuel cell system.

  • Publication number: 20080014475
Abstract: A technique includes providing fuel and oxidant flows to a fuel cell. The technique includes humidifying the anode of the fuel cell, including saturating the oxidant flow and maintaining a temperature of the oxidant flow above a temperature of the fuel cell such that excess water propagates from a cathode of the fuel cell to the anode.

  • Patent number: 6363691
Abstract: A package is provided with a plastic overwrap having a tear tape treated with a corona discharge. The tear tape has a tear tab which overlaps a portion of the tear tape on the wrapped package. The corona treatment of the tear tape allows the tear tab to adhere to the tear tape at said overlap.

  • Patent number: 4685993
Abstract: An apparatus for banding at least two stacked packages together in superimposed registered relationship by applying a band to two consecutive sides of the package stack concentric with the interface of the packages of the stack. The apparatus includes a turret having stacked package receiving pockets in its periphery, a band applicator located at the periphery of the turret to apply the band to the exposed sides of the stack of packages in each pocket as the turret rotates each pocket past the band applicator with a portion of the band trailing behind the trailing edge of the package stack, and a band folding channel located downstream, relative to the direction of rotation of the turret, from the band applicator for receiving stacked packages from the turret pockets and folding the trailing portion of the band over the adjacent side of the package stack.

  • Patent number: 4669611
Abstract: A package group comprising at least two individual packages fastened together in stacked, registered superimposed relationship by a wrap around band. The wrap around band is adhesively attached to two adjacent sides of the package group symmetrically with the interface between the two packages of the group. Each package has a pricing bar code on one surface thereof, and the packages are oriented so that the surface of each package having the bar code face to the same side of the package group. The wrap around band is fabricated of a transparent material and includes an opaque panel asymmetrically located to one side of the longitudinal centerline of the band. The opaque panel is positioned, sized and configured to completely cover the pricing bar code on only one of the packages of the group.

  • Patent number: 4119196
Abstract: A partially collapsible package including a pair of opposing rigid front and rear panels. A bottom panel and a pair of side panels are hinged to the front and rear panels to form a package closed at the bottom and open at the top to receive and remove articles therethrough. Each side panel and the bottom panel has a weakened zone to permit collapse of the package in the direction bringing the front and rear panels together. An arrangement of tabs is hinged to the house and positioned so that as the package is collapsed the tabs will be free for limited movement to permit partial collapse of the package and then to support the package and resist further collapse by engagement between the moved tabs and surfaces of the package thereby providing for a partially collapsed supporting package to protect articles contained therein when the package is full and while articles are being removed and the package collapsed accordingly.
