Patent number: 7838833Abstract: A method of imaging using an electron beam. An incident electron beam is focused onto the specimen surface, a scattered electron beam is extracted from the specimen surface, and a plurality of dark field signals are detected using a detection system. An interpolated dark field signal is generated using the plurality of dark field signals. In addition, a bright field signal may be detected using the detection system, and a final interpolated signal may be generated using the interpolated dark field signal and the bright field signal. User input may be received which determines a degree of interpolation between two adjacent dark field signals so as to generate the interpolated dark field signal and which determines an amount of interpolation between the interpolated dark field signal and the bright field signal so as to generate a final interpolated signal. Patent number: 7451816Abstract: A well packing system and method for operating a well packing system wherein an isolation string assembly has a lower circulation valve with lateral flow ports that are operated to an open position without the use of shifters on a wash pipe. The isolation string assembly is incorporated into a well packing assembly within a wellbore and includes an upper sleeve tool that provides selective production of fluids through the frac pack assembly. In addition, the isolation string includes a lower circulation valve having a sliding sleeve that is shiftable from an open position to a closed position upon receipt of a suitable pressure differential. This configuration is particularly valuable for permitting monitoring of pressure or other conditions in the annulus of the wellbore portion being packed during packing operations. Further, the lower circulation valve tool can be used to selectively allow fluid returns during the packing operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2007Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Thomas G. Patent number: 6652557Abstract: A surgical capsule of the present invention is positioned in an artery or vein by threading a catheter containing the capsule from a proximal incision in the blood vessel to a location within the blood vessel adjacent to a lesion. The catheter comprises an outer holding sheath, an intermediate deployment sheath, and an inner guide wire, all of which are reciprocable with respect to each other. The capsule includes (1) a control sub-assembly that includes a hub and a plurality of outwardly biased leaf springs, and (2) a filter sub-assembly that includes a porous dome that is capable of permitting fluid flow, but retaining particles. Domes of different porosity may be affixed to the leaf springs. The position of the capsule is controlled by the guide wire. The present invention allows the interchangeability of mesh caps of different diameters and mesh sizes. By using the same capsule and the same deployment method, tines or hooks on the shrouds hold the elasticized rim on the mesh.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2001Date of Patent: November 25, 2003Inventor: Kenneth A. Patent number: 5495723Abstract: An improvement for converting an air conditioner or heat pump system into a water supply heater, including a water cooled condenser having a refrigerant throughflow passageway and a water throughflow conduit for bringing a water supply pumped therethrough into heat exchange relationship with the refrigerant. A three-way valve connects the compressor to the water-cooled condenser or to an exterior heat exchanger in the air conditioner, or a reversing valve in the heat pump. Control system including a water pressure switch for actuating the three-way valve, a refrigerant pressure activated water regulator valve mounted on the inflow side of the water throughflow conduit, and a thermostat, route refrigerant via the three-way valve to the water cooled condenser only when a water supply is desired to be heated, thereby preventing the build-up of scale in the condenser water conduits. The control system also switches off the fan of the exterior heat exchanger when the water-cooled condenser is in use.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Inventor: Kenneth MacDonald
