Publication number: 20230214576Abstract: Web content display devices of various size, orientation, and other capabilities may be flexibly positioned on retail shelving or in other locations within a retail store or other space. A display device may be configured to display various information, including information served directly from a pre-existing web location such as a retail store product page, or a pre-existing advertising platform or interface. Web content requests and responses are managed by an adaptive content interface configured on the web content display device or a remote server. The interface is configured to identify a subset of web content within a response and automatically reorganize, restyle, and/or revise the subset of web content for display on the display device. The interface also interprets sensor output from the display device in order to generate clicks or impressions in a form recognizable by the advertising interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2023Publication date: July 6, 2023Inventor: Kenneth Stanley Olson

Patent number: 11182509Abstract: A system for providing hardware-based cybersecurity for ‘smart’ devices includes a security device implemented without the use of microprocessors for critical security functions and an electrically separable device for removal or disconnection of certain security functions. The security device acts a security bridge between the microprocessor core(s) of the protected system and the rest of the protected system. The security device controls access to a protected storage area that holds microprocessor code and/or data for the protected system, and blocks or otherwise prevents execution of any code not present in the protected storage area. The electrically separable device is cryptographically matched to a single instance of a protected system and contains circuitry required to load, remove, or alter any information in the protected storage area. The electrically separable device can also be used for secure communication over a public network to and from the protected system.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: Trilicon LLCInventor: Kenneth Stanley Szajda

Patent number: 6046500Abstract: A method for preparing a circuitized organic substrate for the subsequent deposition of an adhesive thereon is provided. The method comprises exposing the circuitized substrate to a plasma formed from a gas mixture comprising a fluorine-containing entity. Preferably, the gas mixture used to form the plasma also comprises oxygen. It has been determined that treatment of the circuitized substrate with a plasma formed from a gas mixture comprising at least 20% by volume of the fluorine-containing entity and, preferably, up to about 80% by volume of oxygen reduces the spread of an adhesive deposited on the surface of the organic substrate. It has also been determined that such treatment does not adversely affect the subsequent bonding of wires to the wire bond sites that are present on the surface of the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1997Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Edmond Otto Fey, Kenneth Stanley Lyjak, Donna Jean Trevitt
