  • Patent number: 6243923
Abstract: Two brackets having butterfly configurations with openings therein adapted to permit each end of two conventional clothes hangers to be engaged in a parallel status, provide a completed storage facility for hoses, flexible tubes, ropes, chains, belts, electric cords, christmas light cords, and other similar items to be stored thereon. Each bracket has opposite concave arms connected to opposite flat arms completing a continuous periphery to form a closed exterior bracket with openings therein. The flat arms of the bracket form an angle with the concave arms of the bracket permitting frictional engagement with the flat and diagonal members of a conventional coat hanger which are located within the openings. Each bracket engages two coat hangers, forming a storage facility between the concave surfaces of each bracket and the two side-by-side clothing hangers.

  • Patent number: 5393115
Abstract: This invention relates to an alternative device for a tailgate to a pickup truck. The device includes a horizontal beam assembly to be installed across the open back of a pickup truckbed having a cylindrical pivot hinge on one end and a handle-latch at the other end. The pivot hinge can be installed at any height along the open truckbed so as to provide a functional impediment to loss of cargo depending on the size of cargo carried by the operator of the vehicle. The beam assembly can be raised or lowered to accommodate the size of cargo carried in the truckbed. The beam assembly is wired electrically for a rear brake lamp which would be connected to the wiring for the truck tail lights. The beam feature is an improvement over a full tailgate as it allows for the flow of air out of the truckbed to reduce drag and increase gas mileage.

  • Patent number: 5185592
Abstract: A first cylinder is orthogonally mounted relative to a vehicular bumper extending exteriorly thereof telescopingly receiving a second cylinder relative to the first cylinder in a coaxially aligned relationship, with the second cylinder extending beyond the first cylinder and arranged for retraction within the first cylinder. A first spring mounted between a rear terminal end of the second cylinder and the first cylinder maintains the second cylinder in an extended orientation. A first sensor mounted within the second cylinder sensitive to a lessening of light directed through the second cylinder is operative to engage an alarm light upon an object becoming in proximation to the forward distal end of the second cylinder. An alarm switch is mounted adjacent a rear terminal end of the first cylinder cooperative with an actuator rod mounted to the second cylinder to further provide actuation of the alarm light.

  • Patent number: 4944434
Abstract: An automobile portable hauler comprising means for transporting supplies and equipment by the use of a conventional automobile on the exterior of the vehicle by the uses of brackets that are collapsible, are space savers and are easily assembled and adapted to the vehicle. There are 2 U-shaped members that are adapted to fit over the door when the window of the vehicle is open and in a down position. The U-shaped members are connected to a horizontal main member. Fastened to the main member at each end thereto is a bracket having a means for extending the main member longitudinally, a perpendicular extension in the same plane as the main member and extending forward from the door of the vehicle, and an extension member of said vertical extension to said plane of said vertical extension and parallel to the vertical section of the U-shaped member, whereby a cradle is formed at both ends of the main member to support and carry lengths of lumber, pipes, girders and other such items.
