  • Patent number: 7003129
Abstract: A wall mounted speaker includes a baffle and a flange and fasteners for affixing the baffle to the flange. The fasteners include a plurality of spaced posts and latch members. Each latch engages a corresponding post. The lower portion of each post is affixed to the flange and the corresponding latch is removably and pivotally mounted to the upper portion of a post. Each latch includes a body portion, a lever and a cam and is movable between a first position where the body portion is engaged with the baffle and the cam is mounted to upper portion of a post for securing the baffle to the flange and a second position wherein the body portion is moved away from the baffle for releasing the baffle from the flange. The baffle includes a plurality of channels adjacent a respective post. The body portion of each latch is positioned in a respective channel when the latch member is in the first position. The cam includes a slot formed therein for mounting the latch around an upper portion of a post.

  • Patent number: 6375142
Abstract: A mounting assembly for mounting a fixture in an opening in a wall that defines a recess includes a unitary frame housing having a first and second pair of oppositely disposed and spaced side members connected at right angles to define an open interior space. A pair of clamps are provided for engaging the rear surface of a wall and are pivotally connected to a respective first side member by a combination of holes in the clamp, side member and bolts. The hole in the respective side member is larger than the diameter of the bolt to allow the clamps to be pivoted inwardly of the wall opening. When the bolts are tightened, the clamps are moved outwardly and pulled toward the rear surface of the wall to sandwich the wall between a clamp and a first side member. The clamps are self aligning with the flange as they are being tightened together.

  • Patent number: 5033968
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided to present voices or music to a fetus in a manner in which the sounds more accurately resemble the same sounds as the baby will hear after birth. An apparatus is disclosed for directing sound to a fetus in a mother's womb, which includes a contouring filter, having as an input an electronic signal representing such sound, for modifying the magnitude of the signal at any frequency generally inversely proportional to the attenuation of that frequency by the body of the mother over at least a portion of the audible range of frequencies; an amplification circuit to amplify the output signal of the contouring filter; and a speaker having as an input the output of the amplification circuit.
