Abstract: Head-mounted electronic device incorporating a piezo-electric device for dissipation of heat, and related methods of controlling the piezo-electric device to dissipate heat from the head-mounted electronic device are disclosed. To dissipate heat in the head-mounted electronic device, the piezo-electric device is integrated in the head-mounted electronic device and is fluidly coupled to an internal air chamber in the head-mounted electronic device that in fluid communication with an integrated circuit (IC). The piezo-electric device draws the heated air around the IC into the internal chamber that heats air inside the internal chamber. The piezo-electric device is configured to pump heated air in the internal chamber through an outlet to dissipate the heated air from the internal chamber. Dissipation of heated air heated from heat generated from the IC can keep the IC from exceeding its thermal limits and/or prevent the head-mounted electronic device from exceeding its skin temperature limit.

Abstract: A wireless communication device for geographically locating a second wireless communication device includes a housing; a push-to-locate activation mechanism configured to detect selection of a target number corresponding to the second wireless communication device and send a push-to-locate request for the target number to a carrier network to obtain a geographical location of the second wireless communication device using a location-based service; and a display configured to present a geographical location of the second wireless communication device received in response to the push-to-locate request.

Abstract: A wireless, display-less, keypad-less communication device for placing a call to and receiving a call from a contact of a select number of contacts includes a housing; a call actuation mechanism situated on the housing; a memory storing a predetermined number of contacts; and a controller configured to initiate an outgoing call to one of the predetermined number of contacts upon actuation of the call actuation mechanism. The controller is further configured to limit outgoing calls to the predetermined number of contacts.

Abstract: A method of assigning contact phone numbers of a select number of contact phone numbers in a wireless, display-less, keypad-less communication device includes accessing a website on a global computer network to assign contact phone numbers to respective lights and call buttons for the contacts; receiving a prompt to enter data identifying the device; inputting data identifying the device; receiving a prompt to enter a phone number for each contact in a data field for the respective light and call button; entering a phone number for each contact in the data field for the respective light and call button; and transmitting the entered data to the device so that the contact phone numbers are assigned to the respective call buttons and the respective lights.

Abstract: A mobile communication device includes an alerting mechanism comprising a light source, wherein the light source is configured to alert the user via a visual alert that an event has, or is, occurring. The event can be an incoming communication, a voice message, an alarm etc. The visual alert can be synchronized with an audible alert also included in the mobile communication device.
