  • Publication number: 20200394789
Abstract: An optical coherence tomography (OCT) unit provides a mechanism/method for automatic artery and vein identification. The method may be embodied by specialized algorithm or by a machine learning model, such as a support vector machine or neural network. The present method may identify a vascular configuration that forms a vortex structure in the deep capillary plexus (DCP) of an OCT-based (e.g., OCTA) image of a retina. The identified vortex may then be designated a vein, and other vascular structures from other plexuses, such as from the superficial vascular plexus (SVP), that connect to the identified vortex structure are likewise designated veins. Additional criteria, some based on the vein designations, may be used to identify arteries.

  • Patent number: 8265707
Abstract: A cellular multiscreen system forms an image which can be a frame of a video or still image, divides that image into a number of parts, and sends each part to a different cellular telephone. The cellular telephones which receives the images collectively can display the images so that one can see the original image by looking at the multiple different cellular telephones. A game can also be played by determining which of the cellular phones receive which portion of the image.

  • Publication number: 20080106638
Abstract: A basic high-definition image is divided into tiles. Each of the tiles is analyzed to determine how it can be compressed. The tiles are both compressed and reduced in size according to the desired target, where the target is how many pixels are available on the screen of a device that is going to be used to display the video.

  • Publication number: 20080091529
Abstract: Media is received over a channel and played on a media-displaying screen. An advertising system produces Windows that represent the advertising, which preferably take up 5% of the area of the screen or less. These Windows are displayed over the media, but in locations that continuously move. The Windows are displayed only for a limited time, and the user can click on them during the time they are displayed. After clicking on them, a coupon code is displayed which enables a discount on a product.

  • Publication number: 20080082360
Abstract: Inventory control system which automatically monitors weights of items both before and after dispensing. The difference in weight is used to determine an amount of product that has been dispensed. The amount of product that has been dispensed as compared with the amount of money that the employee takes in for dispensing the product. This can be used to determine employee theft. Embodiments can use various techniques to determine who are the dishonest employees.

  • Publication number: 20060139000
Abstract: A wrist worn battery charging system is disclosed which may be utilized to power or charge the batteries of portable devices, such as wrist worn PDA's, wrist worn Cell-Phones, wrist worn PC's, wrist worn walkie-talkies, wrist worn MP3 players, or other electronic devices which are battery powered and worn on the body of the user. The battery charger operates by turning the motion of the user's arm into electrical energy by the action of a miniature D.C. generator. The output voltage may be used to trickle charge a battery, or supply energy necessary to sustain power for the operation of a number of portable devices. The system is sealed and encapsulated to prolong its' useful life and disguise its' appearance.

  • Publication number: 20060110010
Abstract: A body scanning measurement, typing and profiling apparatus and method utilizing microwave energy. Microwaves are used to measure the size and shape of an individual. An array of miniaturized transmitting antennas direct RF energy to a similarly sized array of receiving antennas. Microwaves are directed toward an object, such as a human being, to be measured and the unabsorbed energy of the microwaves transmitted is measured and converted to a signal representative of the size and shape of the object being measured. A computer processor generates vital body measurements and stores such measurements for future use.

  • Publication number: 20060104489
Abstract: Individual information about a person's body part is obtained. The body part is defined to have reference points. A geometrical part is extended between those reference points, and characteristics of the geometrical part as so extended are determined. These characteristics are used as minutae to compare against other body parts.

  • Publication number: 20050264303
Abstract: A person monitoring system that may determine personal characteristics and compare them to other characteristics without necessarily recognizing a specific individual corresponding to those characteristics. An embodiment may use a first array of focused microwave transmitting antennas driven by a microwave transmitting electronics, producing microwave signals for the first array. A second array of focused microwave receiving antennas may have each antenna of said second array being focused and pointed to receive a microwave transmission from a specific antenna of the first array. A controller determines pixels of the sillouette of the monitored subject, as pixels from the microwave antennas. Parameters of human body shape are determined, and used as a profile that can be monitored.

  • Publication number: 20050223949
Abstract: A starch binder composition, methods of forming the same, and products formed therefrom, wherein the starch composition comprises a viscosity profile wherein at a 14.5% solids concentration, a starting temperature of 30° C., and a heating/cooling rate of 7.5° C./min, the composition at a time 0 through gelatinization undergoes a viscosity increase to a maximum value in the range of 600 and 1600 BU torque at a time in the range of 6.5 to 7.2 minutes, followed by a decrease in viscosity and a subsequent increase in viscosity at the end of a final holding period to a value that is substantially the same as the maximum value, based on a Brabender micro visco amylograph.

  • Patent number: 6581252
Abstract: A plastic grille is attached to vehicle fenders by fasteners having a first connector section particularly shaped to snappingly engage a hole in the grille, and having an oppositely-facing second connector section particularly shaped to snappingly engage a hole in the fenders. The first and second connector sections are shaped for optimal low insertion force, yet high retention force. The first and second connectors have flexible arms that are oriented 90 degrees apart, permitting the connectors to slip in perpendicular directions in their respective receiving holes, thus providing improved tolerance and adjustability during installation. A method of assembly includes pre-attaching the fastener to the plastic component, and then attaching them as a unit to the metal component.

  • Patent number: 3954275
Abstract: A fluid pressure operated chuck is provided with a stationary slip ring mounted on an axially rotatable chuck body, and a resilient sealing ring is located in substantially opposed grooves in the slip ring and mounted therein by temporary deformation of the resilient sealing ring during fitting, in the absence of fluid pressure. The sealing ring may be of a squat "T" section with the flanges at the head of the T providing marginal edge parts for location in the opposed grooves and the broad base face of the stem of the T forming a sealing contact face. Valve means are also provided in the chuck body to control the fluid pressure which latter acts on an axially displaceable piston to operate the jaws of the chuck.
