    Abstract: The embodiments herein relates to a method in a radio access network node for transmitting location information associated with a user equipment to a first core network node in a communications network. The radio access network node transmits the location information to the first core network node using a General packet radio service Tunneling Protocol-User plane, GTP-U, protocol. The location information is enclosed in a GTP-U header of payload data traffic.
