Patent number: 12475398Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe techniques that involve an active stabilization of coherent controllers using nearby qubits. In an aspect, a quantum information processing (QIP) system for stabilizing phase damping in qubits is described that provides a first and a second qubit ion, measuring magnetic field fluctuations using the second qubit ion, and generates one or more magnetic fields based on the measured magnetic field fluctuations, the one or more magnetic fields being applied near the first qubit ion to cancel the magnetic field fluctuations to stabilize the phase damping of the first qubit ion. Another such QIP system performs provides a first and a second qubit ion, locks a local oscillator to a frequency reference associated with the second qubit ion, and tracks, using the local oscillator, a frequency of the first qubit ion based on the frequency reference. Patent number: 12410554Abstract: A new technique for treating non-PAN-based pre-cursor polymeric fibers, tows, yarns, and films has been created for use in making stabilized pre-cursor polymers. By applying stepwise or non-stepwise microwave and/or ultraviolet radiation to the pre-cursor polymeric fibers, tows, yarn, or films prior to the stabilization thereof, a reduction in time for the costly stabilization process is achieved. Application of this technique extends to less-costly production of carbon fibers, for uses in industries such as automotive, aviation, trains, medical, military, sporting goods, orthopedics, and other industries. The pre-cursor polymeric fibers, tows, yarns, or films may be a multi-component polymer composite comprised of a non-PAN-based polymeric fiber, tow, yarn, or film and at least one or more constituent materials. Carbonization of such pre-cursor polymeric fibers, tows, yarns, or films results in less-costly carbon fibers that perform equally, if not better, than traditional costly PAN-based carbon fibers.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2020Date of Patent: September 9, 2025Assignee: University of Virginia Patent FoundationInventors: Xiaodong Li, Zan Gao, Jiadeng Zhu, Yellapu V. Patent number: 12180691Abstract: A system of modular boxes as shown and described can be interconnected directly to one another via connectors that are integrally molded with the sidewalls of the boxes. The connectors of the boxes may include fastener receiving apertures for receiving a stud-mounting fastener therethrough. The connectors are thin and flexible, such that insertion and forcible tightening of a fastener through the aperture will cause a compressive force to be exerted between the interconnected boxes to maintain their spatial relationship and to maintain their interconnection. A further feature of the modular boxes of the system are anti-rotation members and receivers that are integrally molded to the side walls of the boxes. The anti-rotation members and receivers interact with one another at the point of connection between the boxes to prevent the boxes from flexing, rotating, or otherwise moving with respect to one another post-installation.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2023Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: OATEY CO.Inventors: Kenneth Brown, Aaron Lorkowski

Patent number: 12093788Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for optimizing two-qubit gates performance in a quantum circuit of a quantum computing system. A quantum computing system selects, from qubits in the quantum circuit, a pair of target qubits on which to perform a quantum gate operation. The quantum computing system selects, from the plurality of qubits, a second plurality of qubits on which to introduce an intentional noise. The intentional noise is applied to the second plurality of qubits via a numerical optimizer. An optimized frequency is determined based on the applied intentional noise. The quantum gate operation is performed by modifying the pair of target qubits frequency to the optimized frequency.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2022Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: Duke UniversityInventors: Kenneth Brown, Mingyu Kang, Qiyao Liang, Bichen Zhang
