  • Publication number: 20170318898
Abstract: A weight adjustable orthotic insert system includes an orthotic insert and a weight adjusting leaf. The orthotic insert corrects joint misalignment of a user based on a weight plus any additional load, foot flexibility or activity level (e.g., momentum) of the user. The weight adjusting leaf may be attached to the orthotic insert when the user is carrying a payload over a distance (e.g., a heavy pack or body armor) so that the orthotic insert provides the proper degree of correction given the increased weight instead of being collapsed by the additional weight.

  • Publication number: 20030178248
Abstract: A vehicle air supply noise attenuation system utilizes both active and passive methods of noise attenuation. A helmholtz resonator communicates with an air supply duct, and is designed to attenuate a narrow band of noise. An active noise control system, including a speaker and an electronic controller, is mounted within the resonator volume and attenuates noise over a wider band of frequencies. The combination of the active and passive noise control attenuates noise over a wide band of frequencies without requiring an overly large speaker.

  • Patent number: 4637732
Abstract: A sports timing device for referees, officials, umpires, coaches and the like. The timer is ideally adapted for football or basketball officiating and it contains circuit means for generating necessary timing signals for officiating the game. The circuit is initiated manually by depression of a primary switch, and timing alarm signals generated by the circuit actuate tactile stimulation means to vibrate the device enclosure to warn the referee or official without the necessity of him visually observing the apparatus. In the football mode the device preferably provides an alarm after expiration of twenty five seconds. In the basketball mode the device provides three second, five second and ten second warnings. Low battery signalling means are incorporated in the circuitry for immediately warning the user that the battery is weak prior to commencing a timing operation; also, an LED provides an immediate dead battery warning.
