    Abstract: Low molecular weight hydrocarbons are removed from air by preheating the air and then passing the preheated air through a heated catalytic bed comprising a mixture of catalytic pellets and metal turnings. The turnings provide for uniform heating of the bed and enable the desired temperatures of the catalytic bed to be maintained with minimum expenditure of energy.
