  • Patent number: 6953940
Abstract: A hand-held germicidal UV lamp includes housing for a UV light source and an aperture for allowing the transmission of UV light. A safety switch is provided on the housing which can be moved by an activation tool. A cover is provided over the switch having an opening for accessing the switch. The opening is sized so that a human finger cannot pass through the opening and move the switch. A light shield may be provided which surrounds the aperture and limits transmission of UV light.

  • Patent number: 6056162
Abstract: A dispensing device is provided for introducing a fluorescent leak detection dye into an operating system containing a pressurized fluid. An embodiment of the dispensing device of the invention comprises a hollow capsule for containing dye having an interior wall and a first and a second end, with the first end adapted to engage the operating system. A plunger having a geometry corresponding to the capsule's interior wall forms a seal against the wall. A rod, having threads of a pre-selected pitch and at least one channel running longitudinally on the rod, is rotatably and axially moveable within the capsule. An end cap is adapted to receive the second end of the capsule with the rod positioned through the end cap. The dispensing device has means located in the end cap to provide controlled engagement of the rod, interposed with the threads of the rod. An indicator adapted to engage the channel of the rod is located in the end cap.

  • Patent number: 5167140
Abstract: The invention provides an atomizing mist infuser and a method of using the same. This mist infuser includes a disposable capsule having a sealable inlet and outlet. This capsule defines a reservoir which is in open communication with the capsule's inlet and outlet. The reservoir is designed to hold a predetermined amount of a liquid material to be infused into a closed-loop system. In one embodiment, the capsule's outlet is designed to: (a) substantially prevent the liquid material held in the capsule's reservoir from flowing therethrough when the material is subjected to normal gravitational forces, and (b) atomize the liquid material held in the capsule's reservoir as the liquid material is forced, under pressure, to pass through the capsule's outlet. In another embodiment, the capsule's outlet is constructed to have a flow restriction-atomization device attached thereto.

  • Patent number: 4938063
Abstract: An apparatus and method for infusing a material into an operating closed loop system. A sealed reservoir, for holding a predetermined amount of material, is provided having an inlet and an outlet. A sealable material fill inlet is provided to admit the desired amount of material into the sealed reservoir. An externally available high pressure system carrier fluid is allowed to enter the reservoir through the inlet via a regulating valve to form a mixture with the held material. Thereafter a mist of the high pressure mixture is infused into the closed loop system through a charging conduit. The charging conduit contains a series of valves and quick-release fittings to insure that the pressurized system carrier fluid and material mixture does not inadvertently escape into the atmosphere or onto the external equipment parts of the closed loop system.

  • Patent number: 4039841
Abstract: There is disclosed an X-ray grid adaptor which is adjustable to receive a variety of X-ray cassettes of different thicknesses to thereby form a grid cassette. After the X-ray procedure, the cassette is removed from the X-ray grid adaptor whereby the X-ray grid adaptor may be used with another cassette.
