    Abstract: An automobile trim molding is provided which contains a plurality of marking elements positioned on a base strip. The marking elements are constructed to mar the surface of an object encountering the molding with a sufficient force so that a person opening a vehicle door will exercise a greater degree of caution to insure that the door is not damaged by encountering the molding. A resilient outer member may be applied over the marking elements so that the marking elements are not visually observable when the molding is applied to a vehicle.
