  • Publication number: 20150335873
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catheter connector configured to provide an escape location for a liquid medium trapped therein. The catheter connector includes a body having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end includes a proximal end port for mating communication with a fluid delivery device. The body defines a hollow interior extending from the proximal end to the distal end. In one embodiment, the catheter connector includes an insert configured within the hollow interior of the connector. The insert defines a bore therethrough that is configured to receive a catheter at least partially therein. Further, the bore includes an interior wall and an exterior wall defining a thickness therebetween. The interior wall includes at least one discontinuity. Thus, when the catheter is inserted through the bore, at least one cavity is formed by the catheter and the at least one discontinuity of the insert.

  • Publication number: 20150238974
Abstract: The invention provides a separation system comprising a decanter, a supply tank, a first conduit between the decanter and supply tank, and an overflow reservoir in fluid communication with an upper portion of the decanter. Also provided is a method of separating particles. The method comprises providing a reservoir comprising a plurality of seeds in a liquid; providing an inlet flow of the fluid into the reservoir; adjusting the specific gravity of the liquid so that a first portion of the seeds float near the surface of the liquid and a second portion of the seeds sink near the bottom of the reservoir; providing an outlet flow of the fluid from a location proximal to the top of the reservoir, wherein the outlet flow removes the first portion of the seeds from the reservoir; and recycling the outlet flow of the fluid back to the inlet flow of the fluid. The system and method of the invention are particularly useful for separating seeds based on differences in specific gravity.

  • Publication number: 20150021971
Abstract: An improved reinforcement backrest for a chair which includes a reinforcement member such as a metal plate inserted into the backrest to provide reinforcement support when a person sitting in the chair leans against the backrest. The reinforcement member includes connection members by which the backrest is removably inserted and retained in the rear section of the chair. The reinforcement member is preferably metal such as steel to withstand the force of a heavy person leaning against the backrest, but other materials such as strong carbon fiber will also provide adequate reinforcement support.

  • Publication number: 20060150678
Abstract: An on-line thickness gauge (OLTG) and method are described herein that are capable of measuring a thickness of a moving glass substrate. In the preferred embodiment, the OLTG includes a Y-guide and a stabilizing unit that respectively captures and stabilizes the moving glass substrate. The OLTG also includes a laser instrument which contains a laser source and a detector. The laser source emits a beam at the front surface of the moving glass substrate. And, the detector receives two beams one of which was reflected by the front surface of the moving glass substrate and the other beam which was reflected by the back surface of the moving glass substrate. The OLTG further includes a processor that analyzes the two beams received by the detector to determine a distance between the two beams which is then used to determine the thickness of the moving glass substrate.

  • Patent number: 6283226
Abstract: A clutch-buffer assembly for power wrench comprises a driven wheel having an outwardly extended positioning tube disposed at a power-input end thereof. A retaining spring, a retaining disc, a driven gear, an anchor ring, and a reversible motor are collared onto the positioning tube sequentially, wherein the retaining disc is limited to move back and forth along the positioning tube without rotation; a pair of protruding teeth and reception cavities in respective contact faces of the retaining disc and the driven gear; and the reversible motor is used to drive the driven gear. When the driven wheel rotates at a higher speed, the retaining disc can be detached from the driven gear for control of the power consumption to lessen the imposed load in order not to blow the fuse, by this way the power wrench can generate larger output torque. Also, the retaining disc can be detached from the driven gear to alleviate the backlash caused by recoil of the driven wheel when impacting.

  • Patent number: 5887666
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved impact wrench structure, particularly an impact wrench for tightening and loosening fasteners for vehicle tires, it has a reversible motor as a power source to drive a drive wheel at a high speed so that flyweight sides of two hammers provided inside the drive wheel bound outwards by a centrifugal force. The knocking sides of the two hammers drop downwards, impacting and engaging with reception blocks of the transmission shaft and transmit output power to the transmission shaft. Such actions are repeated to perform the expected function of the novel impact wrench for tightening or loosening fastening components. The structure of the novel impact wrench of the present invention is more simple in construction, more practical in application, convenient in production and much saving cost compared to a conventional one.
