  • Publication number: 20240152563
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for filtering and/or creating Points-of-Interest (POIs). In one embodiment, a list of POIs is obtained and then filtered based on crowd data related to the list of POIs to provide a filtered list of POIs. In another embodiment, one or more crowd-sourced POIs are created based on one or more crowds relevant to a corresponding bounding region for POI creation.

  • Patent number: 11965423
Abstract: A system and process for restarting a turbomachine includes a shutdown cooldown protection process implemented by a plant level control system or direct control system of the turbomachine. The system and process for restarting ensure rotating components are cooled as expected prior to a unit restart. This system and process for restarting will lockout an ability to restart if an improper cooldown of rotating components is detected. If this lockout is enabled, delaying restart for the rotating components to cool naturally is needed, or the operator could decide to force cool the components.

  • Patent number: 7935409
Abstract: The roll properties of tissue sheets are improved either by imparting cross-machine direction dominant bar-like protrusions to the air side of the tissue by using specially woven transfer fabrics and/or by offsetting recurring surface features of the sheet relative to the surface features of adjacent sheets within the roll, such as by providing a throughdryer fabric with an offset seam. Both techniques provide the resulting tissue sheets with improved capabilities for providing an improved combination of roll bulk and roll firmness.

  • Patent number: 6998017
Abstract: An improved method for imprinting a paper web during a wet pressing event is disclosed which results in asymmetrical protrusions corresponding to the deflection conduits of a deflection member. In one embodiment, differential velocity transfer during a pressing event serves to improve the molding and imprinting of a web with a deflection member. Improved deflection members are also disclosed. Improved tissue webs produced are also disclosed having useful sets of physical and geometrical properties, such as a pattern densified network and a repeating pattern of protrusions having asymmetrical structures.

  • Patent number: 6701637
Abstract: A web treatment device is disclosed capable of heating and creping a fibrous web with control systems for uniform operation. The web is pressed between two belts in a compression zone, where is it also subject to a temperature gradient that can assist in water removal. Durable coatings on the press belts can assist in maintaining good performance. The system can be used to apply texture to a fibrous web or drive chemical reactions or other physical changes in the web.

  • Patent number: 6206493
Abstract: A modular display structure that has a base and a transparent cover. The base and cover may separate to allow insertion of a collectible and may then join to close them and contain the collectible. The base and cover cooperate to define a top, a bottom and sides. A stationary display structure has a column sandwiched between two compartment holders. Each holder is wider than the column and defines partitions spaced apart from each other. The partitions on one holder are in registry with counterparts in the other holder. The modular display structure may be inserted between any pair of neighboring partitions of both holders that are in registry and then snapped into place. The stationary display structure may have levels of compartment holders spaced apart by respective columns, thereby permitting stacking.

  • Patent number: 6187140
Abstract: A method of increasing the wet strength of a creped sheet, which method involves providing a sheet which includes cellulosic fibers, which sheet has a first side and a second side; applying a low temperature-curing latex adhesive binder composition to the first side of the sheet in a fine, spaced-apart pattern occupying from about 20 to about 50 percent of the surface area of the sheet; adhering the first side of the sheet to a creping surface; and creping the sheet from the creping surface. The binder composition is adapted to adhere the sheet to the creping surface and includes a functional group-containing latex, a functional group-reactive crosslinking agent, and a volatile base. In addition, the creping surface is heated at a temperature no greater than about 100° C.

  • Patent number: 4070856
Abstract: Air flow control system comprising a pump having an air pressure outlet and a vacuum outlet; an air utilization device such as a desolderer; and a multi-position switch having first and second input ports respectively connected to the air pressure and vacuum outlets of the pump, the switch being positionable in a number of different positions whereby either one of the pump outlets can be selectively connected to the desolderer and the other vented to the atmosphere to prevent loading of the pump. In a neutral mode of operation, the desolderer is disconnected from the pump and both pump outlets are vented to the atmosphere to again prevent loading thereof. The switch also includes means for continuously varying the amount of air pressure applied to the desolderer.
