  • Patent number: 6729660
Abstract: An adjustable base unit includes a pair of upper and lower frameworks, a connection sleeve attached to the lower framework and having opposite end portions for extending into and providing flow communication through the unit and between an upper fill tube and a lower blower pipe of a silo filling apparatus, and elements for adjustably interconnecting and spacing apart the upper and lower frameworks with respect to one another. When the unit is interposed between the fill tube and blower pipe and the upper and lower frameworks are respectively detachably attached to the fill tube, connection sleeve and blower pipe, the upper framework can be angularly tilted by adjusting selected ones of the interconnecting elements in any one of several different orientations relative to the lower framework so as to correspondingly angularly adjust the mounting disposition of the fill tube on the blower pipe and thereby the position of the fill tube within the silo.

  • Publication number: 20030172593
Abstract: A replacement silo access closure assembly includes a removable closure for closing an access opening in a silo having a recessed central panel and an access hole defined in the panel, an access door mounted on a first side of the panel at an exterior side of the silo and being movable between opened and closed positions relative to the access hole in the panel, and a breaker bar mounted on a second side of the panel at the interior side of the silo and opposite from the first side of the panel and being located above the access hole in the panel.

  • Publication number: 20020168253
Abstract: A silo filling apparatus includes a fill tube for discharging a stream of silage along a flow path into a silo, a silage spreader adapted to undergo movement between operating and non-operating positions for causing and ceasing distribution of silage in the silo, and a flow diverter mechanism having a base and swivel vane rotatably mounted to the base. The base is adapted to undergo movement between retracted and extended positions in which correspondingly the base is displaced from and disposed along the flow path of the silage stream. The swivel vane is disposed in the flow path of the silage stream, when the base is disposed in the extended position, and can undergo rotational movement in opposite directions for selectively diverting silage to one side or the other side of the flow path to level off a top of a silage column.
