  • Publication number: 20150258939
Abstract: An interior trim component includes a substrate having a first rib positioned adjacent to an axial end of the interior trim component. The interior trim component also includes multiple second ribs each oriented substantially parallel to the first rib. The first rib and each second rib are configured to engage a track to facilitate movement of the interior trim component along the track. The interior trim component further includes a cushion coupled to the second ribs and to the substrate. The cushion extends along a first surface of the substrate, wraps around the first rib, and engages a second surface of the substrate, opposite the first surface, to form the axial end of the interior trim component.

  • Publication number: 20140167435
Abstract: An interior trim component includes an engagement feature configured to engage a track of a support structure to facilitate movement of the interior trim component in a direction of travel from an exposed position to a concealed position relative to the support structure. The interior trim component also includes a substrate coupled to the engagement feature and having an outer surface configured to face an interior of a vehicle. In addition, the interior trim component includes a retaining feature extending upwardly from the outer surface. The retaining feature is positioned adjacent to a leading edge of the interior trim component relative to the direction of travel, and the retaining feature is configured to engage an object adjacent to the outer surface to block movement of the object relative to the interior trim component.

  • Patent number: 7029049
Abstract: An armrest mounted to a base and a method of inhibiting the movement of an armrest is disclosed. The armrest comprises an armrest support member adapted to be coupled to the base, the armrest support member being movable in a linear direction between a first position and a second position. The armrest also includes a release mechanism configured to selectively engage the armrest support member to retain the armrest support member between the first position and the second position. The method comprises operating the user interface to reduce friction between the cam and the rail sufficient to permit movement of the armrest support member, moving the armrest support member between the forward position and the rearward position, and releasing the user interface whereby the cam applies sufficient friction to inhibit movement of the armrest support member.
