  • Publication number: 20210236767
Abstract: A filament wrapping and reflow system and a method therefrom. The method including wrapping a filament around an elongate substrate along a longitudinal direction between a proximal end of the elongate substrate and a distal end of the elongate substrate. The method also including melting the filament to form at least a portion of the elongate medical device. The system including a substrate system, a filament system, a heater, one or more actuators, and a controller.

  • Patent number: 7833218
Abstract: A catheter includes an elongate member having a braided reinforcing layer encased within a polymeric bonding layer. The reinforcing layer comprises a plurality of continuous filaments that transform from a full complement braid configuration to a partial complement braid configuration in a least one location along the catheter. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a braided elongate member including providing a core, forming at least one full complement braid portion with a plurality of filaments and forming at least one partial complement braid portion with a portion of the same plurality of filaments.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 16, 2010
    Assignee: Medtronic Vascular, Inc.
Inventors: Peter A. Lunn, Kenneth D. Warnock, Jr.
  • Publication number: 20090270839
Abstract: A catheter includes an elongate member having a braided reinforcing layer. The reinforcing layer comprises a plurality of continuous filaments that transform from a braided configuration to short axially oriented segments in a least one location along the catheter. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a braided elongate member including providing a core, forming at least one braided portion with a plurality of filaments and forming at least one short axially oriented segment with at least a portion of the same plurality of filaments.

  • Patent number: 6619941
Abstract: An improved air cooling device for the production of cast film is shown. The device is intended to increase production rates for film without reducing the level of film gauge control. The devices utilizes a soft box for the bulk of the cooling and a directional source of pressurized air to deflect exhaust air from the soft box from striking the web curtain between the die and chill roll.
