Patent number: 6405953Abstract: An impeller shoe (70) comprising an elongated body (72) of abrasion-resistant material extending longitudinally from an inner end (74) to an outer end (76) and having a pocket (84, 86) defined in the elongated body (72). The pocket (84, 86) has an open end at the front (80) of the elongated body (72) and two opposing sides (88, 90 and 92, 94) extending transversely through the elongated body (72) toward the back (78) of the body. The two sides (88, 90 and 92, 94) of the pocket (84, 86) are oriented substantially parallel to each other and set at an angle with respect to the plane (108) of the back of the body in a direction toward the inner end (74). The pockets (84, 86) also have a substantially even width measured between the two sides (88, 90 and 92, 94) through the length of the pockets. To further extend the wear life of an impeller shoe (104), one or more rods (106) made of higher abrasion-resistant material may be embedded within the impeller shoe (104).Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1999Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Impact Service CorporationInventor: Kenneth D. Patent number: 4397426Abstract: A shoe bracket assembly is described for mounting an impeller shoe to the horizontal rotatable turntable of a vertical shaft centrifugal crushing machine. The shoe bracket includes removable wear protector plates on opposed end faces thereof. The plates protect the rigid base member of the bracket assembly against wear. The wear plates are slidably mounted to the base member by slidable dovetail connector members and are locked into place between abutment surfaces on the base member and a back face surface of the impeller shoe. The plates can be easily removed and replaced following removal of the impeller shoe.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1981Date of Patent: August 9, 1983Assignee: Spokane Crusher Mfg. Co.Inventors: Donald R. Patent number: 4355769Abstract: An elongated impeller shoe assembly 10 is described for a vertical shaft centrifugal impact crushing machine 11 for increasing the effective utilization of the assembly and for substantially reducing the cost to utilization ratio. The assembly 10 includes an elongated supporting base member 28 for attaching to a turn-table bracket 20 in which the base member 20 is cast of a high strength steel alloy material. The base member 28 has a wide longitudinal female dovetail groove 54 formed in a front face 38 thereof extending between an inner end 32 and an outer end 34. The groove 54 has a shallow taper downward from the inner end 32 to the outer end 34. The assembly 10 includes a wear resistant member 30 mountable to the base member 28 for receiving the material from a central distribution disc 15 and directs the material radially outward along a front face 82.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1980Date of Patent: October 26, 1982Assignee: Spokane Crusher Mfg. Co.Inventors: Kenneth D. Warren, Gregory G. Tenold

Patent number: 4347988Abstract: An anvil assembly 10 is described for a vertical shaft centrifugal impact crushing machine 11 for increasing the effective utilization of the assembly and for substantially reducing the cost to utilization ratio. The assembly 10 includes a wedge-shaped supporting base member 22 for attaching to a bracket 20 in which the base member 22 is cast of a high strength steel alloy material. The base member 22 has a wide longitudinal female dovetail groove 46 formed in an inclined front face 36 thereof extending between an upstream face 38 and a downstream face 40. The groove 54 has a shallow taper downward from the upstream face 38 to the downstream face 40. The assembly 10 includes a wedge-shaped wear resistant member 24 mountable to the base member 22 for receiving the particulate material from a central turntable.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1980Date of Patent: September 7, 1982Assignee: Spokane Crusher Mfg. Co.Inventors: Kenneth D. Warren, Gregory G. Tenold

Patent number: 4174814Abstract: An impeller shoe is described for mounting on the turntable of a centrifugal impact rock crushing machine for directing the aggregate radially outward from a central distribution cone to stationary anvils. The impeller shoe is elongated with a trapeziform shape. The impeller shoe has an inclined face working surface with an angle of between 10 and 12 degrees with respect to a back bearing surface. The shoe has inner and outer ends having inner and outer end surfaces respectively that extend transversely between the back bearing surface and the face surface. The inner and outer end surfaces are oriented at acute angles with respect to the back bearing surface. The inner end surface is oriented at an obtuse angle with respect to the face working surface. The outer end surface is preferably oriented at an acute angle with respect to the face working surface.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1978Date of Patent: November 20, 1979Assignee: Spokane Crusher Manufacturing Co.Inventors: Kenneth D.
