    Abstract: An article of furniture, such as a bed, freely suspended from the ceiling of a room, including a drive motor attached thereto for adjustably controlling the relative position or height of the article of furniture with respect to the ceiling. The drive motor engages a winch which is rotatably secured to a suspending line, so that as the winch is turned by the motor, the relative position of the article of furniture with respect to the suspending point is adjustably varied.
