    Abstract: The invention is directed to an embodiment of the present invention is directed to an oil soluble additive composition prepared by a process comprising: reacting, (a) a molybdenum component; (b) an imide derived from the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl dicarboxylic acid component and a polyamine wherein said reaction product is prepared by first charging a polyamine to a reaction vessel and then charging a hydrocarbyl dicarboxylic acid component to the reaction vessel, wherein the charge mole ratio of the hydrocarbyl dicarboxylic acid component to the polyamine is from about 1:1 to about 1:0.5; and (c) a post-treating agent, thereby producing a post-treated moblydated succinimide additive composition.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to Mannich condensation product sequestering agents or mixtures of Mannich condensation product sequestering agents for use in fuels and lubricating oils. The present invention is also directed to a process for preparing the Mannich condensation product sequestering agents. The present invention is also directed to a product formed by combining, under reaction conditions, a polyisobutyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, an aldehyde, an amino acid or ester thereof, and an alkali metal base to form the Mannich condensation product sequestering agent. The present invention is also directed to a lubricating oil composition, a lubricating oil concentrate, a fuel composition, and a fuel concentrate having the Mannich condensation product sequestering agents of the present invention.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a product prepared by the process for preparing a molybdated succinimide complex, the process comprising: (a) reacting an alkyl or alkenyl succinimide of a polyamine of formula I or formula II or mixtures thereof: wherein R is an about C12 to C30 alkyl or alkenyl group, R? is a straight or branched-chain alkylene group having 2 to 3 carbon atoms, x is 1 to 11, and y is 1 to 10, with an ?,?-unsaturated mono-carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester, in a charge mole ratio of the ?,?-unsaturated mono-carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester to the succinimide of formula I or formula II or mixtures thereof of about 0.1:1 to about 6:1, and wherein the reaction temperature is no greater than about 135° C.; and (b) reacting the succinimide product of step (a) with an acidic molybdenum compound to provide the molybdated succinimide complex, wherein the molybdated succinimide complex prepared is a liquid at room temperature.
