  • Patent number: 7160048
Abstract: A device for restricting the flow through a curb inlet opening of a street storm drain by positioning a face plate thereover with a plurality of flow apertures therethrough of limited size. The face plate is securable to the drain by a mounting apparatus including one or more mounting brackets along with an engagement device for securing the mounting brackets with respect to the drain and the face plate for mounting the face plate extending over the curb inlet opening. Mounting brackets include alternatively teeth for engaging mated teeth on the rear of the face plate and storm drain engaging teeth also. Edges of the face plate can be chamfered for protection and a protective rim can extend upwardly around the securement apertures for protection thereof.

  • Patent number: 6474365
Abstract: A system for covering drain pipe outlets, particularly, as they exit a building. The system includes a band that is tightened around the exterior of a pipe as it protrudes through the side of a building. Attached to the band is a hinged cover which is sized to entirely cover the pipe and hidden hinge. The cover may be covered with material to match or complement the building exterior surfacing, such as paint or stucco. In addition, the band portion may also include one or more restictors, such as bars, to prevent unauthorized access or debris from entering the pipe. The system provides for multiple size covers and bands for a wide variety of pipe sizes.

  • Patent number: 4847781
Abstract: Described herein is an energy management system in which a central unit provides a series of energy managing signals over a medium, such as TV cables, power lines, telephone lines or free space radio frequency transmissions, to a plurality of subscriber units. Within each unit is a transponder which responds to the transmitted central unit signals and provides corresponding signals onto an electric grid, such as the power lines, within the subscribing unit. The appliances to be managed each have associated therewith a responder unit, which is coupled to the electric grid to receive the transponder provided signals. Each of the central unit transmitted signals is encoded to manifest the energy managing dictates of a particular one of a plurality of diffferent schedules and is only provided in conformance with the dictates of the schedule is manifests.

  • Patent number: 4546574
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for cleaning the hard-to-reach lower surfaces of the upper platens of large consolidating presses. The apparatus comprises an upwardly-facing rotary abrasive disk driven by an air motor mounted in a housing having an elongated hollow handle with an operator-controlled air supply valve thereon. The motor housing is slidably mounted on a frame including telescoping height-adjusting legs which extend upwardly from a rectangular base having downwardly extending portions at each end thereof with a roller mounted to extend therebetween to stabilize the apparatus and allow it to be used in even the critical edge portions of presses with safety. Holes in the telescoping legs, adapted to receive self-locking, quick-release pull pins are provided to facilitate adjustment and retention of the apparatus at the desired height.
