  • Patent number: 5169989
Abstract: An improved process for preparing a polyether polyol of reduced scorching properties comprising buffering of the alkaline polyether polyol before heating to remove water, and the use of said polyether polyol to prepare flexible foam slabstocks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 1991
Date of Patent: December 8, 1992
    Assignee: Miles Inc.
Inventors: Alfred L. Peterson, Mark S. Solomon, Kenneth E. Reed, Edward P. Squiller
  • Patent number: 4493316
Abstract: A stabilizer to support and stabilize the knee joint of the wearer having a thigh shell and calf shell formed of high impact resistant plastic. The shells are removably mountable adjacent to the knee and conform to the contours of the leg, supporting the knee joint on both sides. The shells are joined together at their lateral and medial sides by polycentric selectable arc hinge assemblies to provide support and permit controlled natural flexion and extension of the joint. Each hinge assembly has a pair of parallel links connecting corresponding sides of the shells and rotatable about pivot pins which form the points of attachment. Meshing hinge gears positioned between the links rotate with their respective shells about the pivot pins to integrate the independent rotational movement of the shells about their pivot pin axes. A pinion stop gear meshes with and is selectably rotatable about the periphery of each hinge gear.

  • Patent number: 3948444
Abstract: In low drift spray nozzles and a method of applying low drift sprays, liquid is formed in large droplets by imparting a swirling motion to the liquid in a chamber of the nozzle, passing the swirling liquid through a first orifice into another chamber of the nozzle which is larger in cross section than the orifice, and discharging the swirling liquid from the last mentioned chamber through a second orifice which is at least as large in cross section as the first orifice, whereby the discharged liquid forms a hollow geometric shape having large droplets of the liquid therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 25, 1975
Date of Patent: April 6, 1976
    Assignee: Delavan Manufacturing Co.
