Abstract: Liquid-containing weighted device usable on land and/or in water and suitable for use in fitness, training, conditioning and/or rehabilitation. According to one embodiment, the device may include a closed receptacle, at least a portion of which may be transparent or translucent to permit a user to view its contents. The receptacle may be partially filled with a mixture of a liquid, such as water, and one or more insoluble solid materials, such as glitter and/or gravel. The mixture, when in motion, creates an inertia that provides an undertow reaction to assist with reverse movements to reduce or to eliminate kinetic joint load. In addition, as the mixture is in motion, the gravel scrapes against the inner surface of the receptacle, thereby enabling the device to create a rhythmic sound when being used, which may enhance its usability when a user is exercising to music.

Abstract: An operating mechanism is for a circuit breaker housed by an enclosure assembly including a panel movable between a closed position and an open position. The operating mechanism includes a linkage and an operating member. The operating mechanism is coupled to the handle of the circuit breaker to provide operation of the handle from the exterior of the enclosure when the panel is closed. The operating member includes a first end having an engaging portion coupled to the linkage of the operating mechanism, and a second end structured for gripping by a user. The operating member enables the handle of the circuit breaker to be operated, without requiring the use of separate hand tools, when the panel of the enclosure is open and the handle portion of the operating member is actuated.

Abstract: An electrical switching apparatus includes a circuit breaker device having a molded housing with line and load ends, plural terminals disposed from the housing, and first and second handle devices. The terminals electrically and mechanically engage a circuit breaker mounting block. The first and second handle devices engage the housing at or about the respective line and load ends. The handle devices remove the circuit breaker device from the mounting block. Each of the handle devices includes an insulative barrier having a first portion, a second portion and a third portion. The first portion at least partially covers a corresponding one of the housing ends. The second portion is coupled to the housing at or about the corresponding one of the housing ends. The third portion is structured to be manually grasped in order to pull the insulative barrier together with the circuit breaker device away from the mounting block.

Abstract: A beverage dispenser for dispensing a beverage into a container is provided. The dispenser includes a housing having a dispensing area. A pump or a control valve is in communication with a source of diluent which is to be dispensed into the dispensing area. A cartridge receiving area and a dispensing actuator are located in the housing. A concentrate/extract cartridge is removably insertable into the cartridge receiving area in a position to be actuated by the dispensing actuator, the concentrate/extract cartridge being adapted to hold a beverage concentrate/extract and including a dispensing aperture for dispensing a beverage concentrate/extract into the dispensing area upon placement of the concentrate/extract cartridge in the cartridge receiving area. A controller is located in the housing to control the actuator to discharge concentrate/extract into the dispensing area. A method of dispensing a selected beverage made from concentrate/extract and a diluent is also provided.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus incorporating the method for making a long, continuous laminate. A plurality of layers of materials are simultaneously wound around a metal hub. Strips of refractory material, perforated metal, metal foil, metal mesh, and random fiber media, are employed in the layers of materials. The hub, once completed, is placed into a furnace for diffusion bonding and later cooled to room temperature. The cooled laminate coil may be cut into various lengths.

Abstract: A docking module can electrically connect a portable computer to a plurality of ancillary support devices. Engagement devices can alternately pull and push the portable computer relative to the housing. A sliding deck projects from the housing and is adapted to underlie and pull the portable computer toward the housing. The module has a plurality of electrically interconnected connectors mounted on panels on opposite sides of a housing. These panels are separately mounted at front and rear openings in the housing. A standard blank panel can have holes formed in it in a variety connector patterns to accommodate a variety of portable computers. Accordingly, the module is readily adapted to a portable computer by selecting a mounting pattern for the connectors on one of the panels, without a need to modify the housing. Also the docking module can be customized by using a standard reciprocating mechanism and selecting a customized mating implement to attach to the reciprocating mechanism.

The clamping assembly is capable of clamping onto the rigid structure at a bottom edge of the rigid structure. A handle assembly is pivotally attached to the clamping assembly. The handle assembly includes a pivoting portion for pivotally attaching to the clamping assembly. The handle assembly includes a lever arm portion connected to the pivoting portion. The handle assembly includes a handle grip connected to the lever arm portion. A board pusher assembly is connected to the lever arm portion of the handle assembly, such that, when the clamping assembly is clamped onto a rigid structure, and when a force is exerted on the handle grip in a direction toward a floor board, the board pusher assembly is capable of pushing against the floor board.

Abstract: An exercise device for has a rigid body defining a chamber, at least one first fluid mass disposed to move within the chamber in response to movement of the rigid body during exercise, thereby increasing the effective mass of the device by dynamic movement of the fluid mass during rhythmic exercise, one or more handles for gripping of the device during exercise, and a set of one or more weight adjusting elements that can be removably attached in order to adjust the static base weight of the exercise device. Exercise devices may be constructed for use of one hand or two hands.
