    Abstract: A disc brake includes inventive backing plates. The backing plate includes tabs located at each end with a spring supported on a top edge of the backing plate between the tabs. The spring maintains the brake pad assemblies in proper orientation with respect to the disc and reduce the amount of noise created by the brake pad assembly components while the vehicle is in operation.
