  • Patent number: 7276157
Abstract: A swimming pool strainer formed of a substantially U-shaped housing including an end panel with a pair of spaced side panels perpendicularly extending therefrom. Positioned between the side panels are a plurality of spacer dowels that enhance the structural integrity of the housing. An upper screen and a lower screen are secured to the upper and lower surfaces of the housing respectively. Free ends of the side panels are inserted into a swimming pool skimmer until a free edge of each screen abuts the swimming pool wall. Accordingly, the screens trap leaves and other large debris that would otherwise enter and damage a circulating filtering system.

  • Patent number: 4646718
Abstract: In moving solar energy collectors to track the sun, there are combined:a pressurized air solar heat sensing head assembly, utilizing compressed air in adjacent and opposing chambers, each chamber having a flexible diaphragm closely contacting an actuator of a four way valve of a pressurized water drive system, with these chambers being located on opposite sides of a sunshade assembly;a pressurized water drive system having the four way valve moved by the pressurized solar heat sensing head assembly, whereby water under pressure from this valve is directed to one side or the other of an actuator utilizing compact and collapsible hoses, which in expanding to receive the pressurized volume of water, move a power take off connector, in turn attached to a cable of a pulley drive subassembly, in turn rotatably secured to solar energy collectors to adjustably position them; andsolar energy collectors selected from many types each of which is mountable about one structurally supported axis assembly, to make automatic

  • Patent number: 4570828
Abstract: A finger manipulated dispenser of viscous liquids from a flexible tube comprises a smaller diameter hollow reel, called a core, and a larger diameter hollow reel, called a spool, which lengthwise telescope together. Each reel at one end has a large diameter flange serving to receive finger applied rotating forces and to abut the non flanged end of the other reel. Each reel has a longitudinal slot, extending from the respective larger diameter flange to the respective non flanged end, to receive collapsed portions of a flexible tube. The core at the non flanged end is partially radially cut to create a directional control pawl. The spool at the larger diameter flange is notched at several radial locations to receive the directional control pawl, thereby completing a ratchet subassembly. To use, the bottom tube end is longitudinally inserted into the core slot. The spool is aligned, with the longitudinal slots of both the core and the spool, and the core and the spool are telescoped together.

  • Patent number: 4441571
Abstract: A fluid bearing with a multicomponent membrane which is inflated to form a torus defining a plenum chamber. The preferred three layer membrane has a fluid impermeable inner layer, a middle layer of a dimensionally stable fabric, and an abrasion resistant outer layer. The layers may be replaced independently. A number of different mechanisms for attaching the layers to the load-carrying member of the bearing are shown, and different membranes having different lift heights may be used with a single load-carrying member. In one embodiment one of a series of interchangeable metal rings of different diameters used with the middle layer of the membrane may be selected to control the lift height. The bearing also includes a replaceable orifice plate which controls the rate of flow into the plenum chamber and into and out of the torus membrane. A valve operates during the usual gradual start up to block flow of fluid to the plenum until the pressure in the torus membrane is one or two p.s.i. above atmospheric.

  • Patent number: 3950038
Abstract: A combination of a fluid bearing having the capability of lifting large loads off of a smooth surface so that they may be easily moved, with a track device having a transversely ribbed continuous belt, the belt being supported by two rollers. The fluid bearings are so situated on supporting elements within the area of the belt that the pressure from the fluid bearing is directed in a downward direction upon the inner surface of the continuous belt, the belt being free to revolve and thus move the load, once sufficient pressure is applied to lift the load off the inner surface of the belt.

  • Patent number: 3935954
Abstract: A two-wheel type trailer having a forklift frame, pivotal about the axis of the trailer wheels, and a telescoping tongue means adapted to be connected with a prime mover. A hay bale is loaded on and unloaded from the forklift frame by pulling and pushing on the telescoping tongue by a prime mover. Remotely operated hydraulic control means "sets" the wheel brakes and unlocks latching means to permit the loading and unloading operation.
