  • Patent number: 10082376
Abstract: A projectile has a liner forming an interior void, and a core disposed in a first region of the void proximal to a trailing end portion of the liner, with a portion of the void disposed forward with respect to the core. An outer jacket covers a leading end portion of the liner to enclose the interior void. When the projectile impacts a target object, the core travels in a direction of flight through the leading end portion of the liner to impact the object. When the projectile impacts a target surface at a non-zero angle of approach with respect to the normal of the target surface, the projectile creates a deformation in the target surface immediately before the core travels through the leading end portion of the liner to impact the target. This deformation reduces the probability that the core will ricochet off the deformed portion of the surface.

  • Patent number: 7219600
Abstract: An automatic system for removing tea from a teapot is disclosed. The present invention incorporates the use of a timing mechanism, a release mechanism and an infuser mechanism to automatically remove the tea from hot water. The timing mechanism is user set and controls the length of time the tea is steeped in hot water. The infuser mechanism comprises a filter element that holds the tea in contact with the hot water and a counterbalance that rotates the filter element out of the water when released and the release mechanism that releases the infuser mechanism when the time has expired.

  • Publication number: 20060254452
Abstract: A fluid jet apparatus includes a housing defining a propellant cavity, a fluid cavity, and a passage through the housing in fluid communication with the fluid cavity. The apparatus further includes a membrane separating the propellant cavity and the fluid cavity, a propellant disposed in the propellant cavity, and a fluid retained in the fluid cavity. The propellant urges the fluid from the fluid cavity through the passage upon initiation of the propellant. A munition system includes a munition and at least one fluid jet apparatus adapted to vent the munition. A method includes initiating a propellant to produce a rapidly expanding gas and urging a fluid through a passageway with the gas to produce a fluid jet.
