  • Publication number: 20080053038
Abstract: An induction foil cap sealer system includes a monitoring system that comprises a plurality of sensors disposed throughout the sealer system, each sensor monitoring a respective condition related to the sealing operation. A controller is configured to receive from the sensors data representing the monitored conditions and to process this data, determining operating information related to the sealing operation and possibly fault conditions with the sealing operation. The controller is also configured to communicate with a display system and to cause this display system to activate one or more peripheral devices in order to report to a system operator, for example, the determined operating information and/or fault conditions related to the monitored conditions. In reaction to a detected fault condition, the controller may also be configured to shutdown the cap sealer system and/or to remove work pieces that the controller has determined contain a faulty condition.

  • Publication number: 20070012546
Abstract: A system for aligning items, such as bottles, includes a rotating plate and a diverter arm that extends outward over a top surface of the plate towards the plate edge. A rotating channel may surround the plate. In operation, bottles are dropped onto the plate and rotated by the plate against the arm. The distance between the top surface of the arm and the plate surface is such that the arm generally diverts the bottles outward and guides them into free gaps within the channel. The distance is also configured such that as bottles back-up, waiting for free channel gaps, the arm allows any buckling bottles to pass over and back onto the plate, rather than into the channel. The distance may also be configured such that the arm acts like a scoop. As bottles back-up behind the arm, the arm presses under the bottles along the arm and passes them over, relieving the pressure.

  • Publication number: 20060288663
Abstract: An induction foil cap sealer of the present invention includes a cap foil sealer head installed along a conveyor. A controller is operatively connected to the cap sealer head. An infrared detector is adapted to obtain temperature data from a work piece on the conveyor. An electronic memory storage device is capable of storing electronic data, and is operatively connected to the controller. A comparator is in communication with the controller, the electronic memory and the infrared detector. The comparator compares the temperature data with pre-stored electronic data in the electronic memory storage and sends a signal to the controller based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20060086759
Abstract: A dispenser assembly is provided. The dispenser assembly includes a container having a bottom, an open top and a side wall extending between the bottom and the open top, and a mating arrangement, the side wall having an inner surface; at least one container passageway mounted on the inner surface of the side wall and extending from the open top of the container to a position proximate to the bottom of the container; and a pump cap having a cap body, a pump mechanism arranged within the cap body, a pump cap passageway coupled to the pump mechanism, and a coupling arrangement arranged on the pump cap body and configured to detachably couple to the mating arrangement of the container such that the container passageway aligns with and sealingly engages the pump cap passageway in a fluid connection when the pump cap is mounted to the container.

  • Publication number: 20060056913
Abstract: A device is provided for preventing shoreline erosion and for rebuilding the sand beach along the shoreline of a large body of water. A series of the devices are placed in side-by-side relation essentially parallel to the shoreline. The device includes a hollow plastic structure fillable with a heavy material, such as cement. The structure has a trapezoidal configuration to lower the center of gravity of the device and includes inclining front and rear walls converging toward each other to the top wall. The hollow plastic structure includes a plurality of tubular members extending from the front wall to the rear wall. The front and rear walls have access apertures opening to the tubular members. The tubular members gradually taper from a predetermined diameter at the access apertures in the front wall to half of the predetermined diameter at the access apertures in the rear wall to reduce the velocity of the flow of water to the large body of water.

  • Patent number: 6092643
Abstract: Apparatus for determining whether the movement of articles travelling on a conveyor have stalled includes a first sensor, such as a photoeye, for sensing the presence of at least one of the articles at a first location along the conveyor and second sensor, such as a photoeye, for sensing whether the articles are moving past another location along the conveyor. A control unit is provided which is responsive to the first photoeye sensing the presence of at least one article at the first location and responsive to the second photoeye detecting that articles are not moving for determining that the movement of the articles has stalled and for initiating appropriate corrective action, such as actuating alarm(s) and, in the case where the apparatus is used in conjunction with an induction sealing apparatus, terminating power to the sealing head of such apparatus.
