  • Patent number: 11650137
Abstract: The CPAP machine override monitoring device comprises an air chamber, a diaphragm, a compression head, a push rod, a connecting rod, a crank, a motor, an ON/OFF control, a speed control, one or more batteries, and an enclosure. The device may be adapted to simulate the inhalations and exhalations of a human such that a CPAP machine coupled to the device may operate without generating an alarm. As a non-limiting example, the device may override the CPAP machine's monitoring of air pressure and/or pressure changes such that the CPAP machine may be tested for extended periods of time. The air chamber may replace a CPAP mask at the end of a CPAP tube. The diaphragm may produce the pressure changes within the air chamber that simulate normal breathing with no leaks.

  • Patent number: 10919504
Abstract: A trip cock valve for a brake system on a rail car includes a valve body that defines an inlet, a chamber downstream from the inlet, and an outlet downstream from the chamber. A piston is inside the chamber. A valve member operably connected to the piston has a first position that prevents fluid flow through the outlet and a second position that permits fluid flow through the outlet. A lever is operably engaged with the valve member to move the valve member from the first position to the second position. A valve position indicator downstream from the inlet is in fluid communication with the inlet when the valve member is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20100000553
Abstract: A cigar drill disguised to appear like a typical writing instrument is provided. The cigar drill is designed to create the proper sized smoke passageway in cigars of arbitrary size, rather than limiting the user to one or two sizes of smoke passageways.

  • Publication number: 20080256876
Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a strip for providing a finish to a longitudinal edge of a door, the edge having spaced apart side regions, each side region contacting a main face of the door, in which the strip includes a central groove for locating in a longitudinal groove formed in a longitudinal edge of the door, a pair of edge portions each for abutting against a side region when the central groove is located in the longitudinal groove, and a pair of connecting regions, each connecting the central groove to an edge portion, wherein the pair of connecting regions define upper surfaces of the strip, and the central groove and the pair of edge portions are positioned below the level of the upper surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20080164634
Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a method of forming a door skin including the steps of: introducing a sheet moulding compound (SMC) into a mould; moulding and at least partially curing the SMC to produce a skin having substantially the dimensions and external appearance of a door, and thereafter introducing an in-mould coating (IMC) composition to the mould; causing, at least partially through applied pressure, the IMC composition to spread across a surface of the skin; and curing the SMC composition to produce a cured door skin having a cured coating thereon.

  • Publication number: 20060119136
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a vehicular panel (10) with a region of weakness that permits the panel to deform at predefined locations in a prescribed manner in response to an incident force (F). The panel (10) has a substrate with an exposed surface (“A”) side (14), a hidden surface (“B”) side (12), and a core section (16) extending therebetween. The method comprises the steps of (I) molding the part; (II) optionally, curing the part; (III) placing the part in a holding fixture; (IV) securing the “A” surface opposite an area of the “B” surface in which a scoring step is to be performed; (V) applying a scoring tool to the “B” surface to define a scored part with one or more notches (18) that extend inwardly from the “B” surface into the core section so that the one or more notches are invisible when viewed from the “A” side of the part; and (VI) retracting the tool and removing the scored part from the fixture.

  • Publication number: 20040157685
Abstract: A basketball training device including a wheeled dolly with a pair of guide rails extending upwardly from its opposite sides. The guide rails are generally U-shaped in cross-section and open outwardly from the center of the dolly. Slidably positioned within the guide rails is a pair of elongated side members, the upper ends of which carry a transparent panel. Apertures in the guide rails and side members may be axially aligned to admit locking pins so that the height of the panel above the dolly can be adjusted by a user. A user practices the game of basketball by shooting baskets over the transparent panel. In time, the user learns to put the correct arch on his shots.
