  • Patent number: 8833782
Abstract: A drop-down running board assembly includes at least one linkage assembly connected to a vehicle having at least one door, and a sensor having a first part and a second part, one part of the sensor is mounted to a door, the other part of the sensor mounted to the vehicle. A step portion is connected to the linkage assembly. There is also an actuator connected to the linkage assembly such that the actuator moves the linkage assembly and the step portion to a deployed position when the door is opened and the first part of the sensor is moved away from the second part of the sensor, and a retracted position when the door is closed and the first part of the sensor is positioned substantially adjacent the second part of the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20080071930
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology subject matters for providing a Native Network Interface within an Advanced Metering System (AMS). The Native Network Interface provides the ability to plug in different low level network transport layers into a metering system to provide access to the physical network protocol from a C12.22 protocol stack in C12.22 Host applications. The design includes a base class having selected capabilities that may be reused in development of a transport layer for providing reliable message transport between communications system coupled components in an Advanced Metering System.

  • Publication number: 20080071911
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology subject matters for controlling the allocation of system nodes to a variable number of communication servers in an Advanced Metering System (AMS). An Orchestration Manager is provided through which all requests for end-device communications are routed. The Orchestration Manager periodically rebalances node assignments to reallocate nodes among communication servers in order to maintain data collection efficiency and in order to redistribute end devices from a failed communication server, or to otherwise adjust for the addition of a newly activated communication server.
