  • Patent number: 8950724
Abstract: A mounting system is provided to couple an engine unit including a turbine engine portion coupled to a gearbox portion about an axial axis to a support structure. An aft mounting device can couple the turbine engine portion to the support structure. A force determinator can be configured to determine a force load of the engine unit at the location of the aft mounting device. The length of the aft mounting device is adjustable between the turbine engine portion and the support structure in a radial direction to substantially align the gearbox portion and the engine portion relative to the axial axis. The aft mounting device may be sized to a desired length to correspond to a force load of the engine unit during the running condition.

    Filed: June 28, 2012
Date of Patent: February 10, 2015
    Assignee: Solar Turbines Inc.
Inventors: Kenneth Hurst, Edward Sieveking, Kwok-Kwong Ben Tse, Eric Blankenship

  • Patent number: 6295021
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring and controlling yawing of a GPS satellite in an orbit that has an eclipsing portion out of the sunlight based on the orbital conditions of the GPS satellite. In one embodiment, a constant yaw bias is generated in the attitude control system of the GPS satellite to control the yawing of the GPS satellite when it is in the shadow of the earth.

  • Patent number: 5963167
Abstract: An improved analyzing system based on GIPSY-OASIS II software package developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for Global Positioning System, general satellite tracking, orbit determination and trajectory studies. New features and functions include yaw compensation, precise satellite positioning by high-rate GPS clocks, enhanced data filtering and smoothing, a new user interface for controlling orientation of a satellite and its components, and no-fiducial approach to global geodesy. The present invention allows a fully automatic operation and delivery of validated daily solutions for orbits, clocks, station locations and others with no human intervention. A 3D GPS orbit accuracy of 15 cm and the daily repeatability of the 3D global geocentric station location in better than 1 cm have been achieved.

  • Patent number: 4354441
Abstract: Mounting blocks for carrying a plurality of tufting machine gauge parts have a body member including a pair of elongated space flanges between which a gauge part retainer is positioned. The retainer includes a plurality of slots for receiving the mounting portions of the gauge parts transversely to the elongated direction. The slots open into a channel in the retainer which receives a clamping member for securing the gauge parts in the retainer and the retainer within the body member. The body member may also include an elongated channel opening onto the channel of the retainer so that a portion of the clamping member is in each channel, or the channel in the body member may open onto the retainer surface opposite to that in which the retainer channel is formed, in which case a clamping member is received in each channel.

  • Patent number: 4195580
Abstract: A knife block and looper mounting block having a plurality of grooved retaining plates positioned between and joined to the flanges of a body member. At least certain of the retaining plates have slots in the upper surface for receiving a clamping member for acting on the gauge parts. A multi-knife mounting block has the grooves of adjacent plates progressively disposed closer to one of the flanges and further than the other to correct for disalignment due to the rise in pitch angle between the knives and loopers.

  • Patent number: 4015740
Abstract: An infants feeding bottle comprising a container for liquid having an outlet opening surrounded by a seating, a resilient teat with an outlet orifice, the teat having a portion secured onto the seating of the container by an attachment part, a teat cap enclosing the teat and connected to the attachment part, the attachment part being through a severable portion which can be broken by manipulation of the cap, a closure member being frictionally engaged in the interior of the teat and arranged to be dislodged therefrom by a manipulation of the teat cap without removal thereof from a position in which it encloses the teat, dislodgement of the closure member allowing access between the interior of the container and of the teat.
