  • Publication number: 20070060419
Abstract: A training device for use by a lacrosse player to practice checking an offensive player includes a main post extending upwardly from a base. An arm is operatively coupled to the main post and rotatable about a fixed point intermediate its proximal and distal ends. The arm includes a wrist near its distal end for holding a lacrosse stick. An activating member is mounted to the main post for separating a user from the arm's distal end. An actuator is coupled to the arm's distal member and to the activating member such that the arm is caused to move when a user attacks the activating member. The actuator may include rack and pinion gears for translating a linear force upon the activating member into a rotational force upon the arm. A spiral spring and cam provide for oscillating movement of the arm.

  • Publication number: 20060288515
Abstract: A sootblower frame particularly adapted for long retracting-type sootblowers for cleaning of internal surfaces of large scale combustion devices. The frame, preferably formed from sheet metal stock, incorporates integrally formed surfaces and configuration features which provide for guiding and movement of the sootblower carriage assembly. The side panels of the frame further provide the surface for the mounting of the drive rack by which the carriage is advanced and retracted along the frame.

  • Publication number: 20060154752
Abstract: A lacrosse training device for practicing the action of checking an offensive player, the lacrosse training device comprising: an essentially vertical center member having the height of a lacrosse player; an arm portion pivotally coupled at a proximal end to the vertical center member at approximately shoulder height of a lacrosse player extending outwardly from the vertical center member a distance of approximately arm's length; a playing stick portion coupled to the arm portion at a proximal end of the arm portion; and an oscillating device coupled between the arm portion and the vertical center member, wherein upon manual movement of the playing stick portion from a first position to a second position, the oscillating device will cause the arm portion to pivot about the center member with an oscillating motion.
