  • Patent number: 6252681
Abstract: A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a plurality of jobs are placed in a queue in anticipation of processing the same. The queue, over time, receives jobs of at least a first user type and a second user type. In operation, first and second jobs of the first user type are placed in the queue. When a third job is ready for placement into the queue, a determination as to whether the third job is of the first user type or the second user type is made. If the third job is of the first user type, then it is processed subsequent to the processing of both the first and second jobs; however, if the third job is of the second user type, then the third job is processed ahead of at least the second job.

  • Patent number: 5970224
Abstract: A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a first job, developed at a first service, and a second job, developed at a second service are placed in a queue for processing. A first value is assigned to the first job and a second value is assigned to the second job, with the first and second values varying in magnitude as a function of the first and second services. In practice, the first job is placed in the queue and a portion thereof is processed. Subsequently, the second job is placed in the queue and processing of the first job is interrupted by the second job if the second value is greater in magnitude than the first value.

  • Patent number: 5566326
Abstract: A host data processing system which includes a plurality of input/output devices operates under the control of an enhanced version of the UNIX operating system. The host system includes an emulator which runs as an application process for executing user emulated system (ES) application programs. The emulator includes a number of emulated system executive service components operating in shared memory and an interpreter, an emulator monitor call unit (EMCU) and a number of server facilities operating in the host memory. The ES executive service command handler and file management components are extended to accommodate dual decor copy command which invokes the file management component to copy files in either direction between the host system and emulated system.

  • Patent number: 4512652
Abstract: An electrophotographic printing machine in which a controller regulates charging of a photoconductive member in accordance with information stored therein. The controller determines the charging current as a function of the rest time between successive copying cycles.

  • Patent number: 4192603
Abstract: A photoconductor belt assembly employs a sub-belt having a photoconductive belt secured releasably thereto. The photoconductive belt is advanced from storage and positioned in contact with the sub-belt so as to be readily attached thereto. As the sub-belt advances, the photoconductive belt is positioned thereon in a substantially wrinkle-free condition.

  • Patent number: 4174171
Abstract: An apparatus in which the lateral alignment of a belt arranged to move in a pre-determined path is controlled. A support mounted resiliently constrains lateral movement of the belt causing the belt to apply a moment to a pivotably mounted steering post. As a result of this moment, the steering post pivots in a direction to restore the belt to the pre-determined path.
