  • Patent number: 9784545
Abstract: Solid propellant systems include a main propellant and a secondary propellant in contact with the first propellant that exhibits autoignition temperatures of at least about 100° F. lower than the autoignition temperature of the main propellant. The secondary propellant of the present invention is most advantageously employed with conventional AP-containing solid propellant formulations as the main propellant, especially formulations containing both AP, an energetic solid, and a binder. In especially preferred forms, the secondary propellant will include a nitramine which is at least one selected from nitroguanidine (NQ), cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) and cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX), and a binder which is at least one selected from HTPB, HTPE or glycidyl azide polymer (GAP). Most preferably, the secondary propellant will include a combination of nitramines which includes NQ and one of RDX or HMX.

  • Patent number: 8380256
Abstract: A failsafe protection system for a distributed telecommunications site ties power shut off to a network interface unit to power supply conditions at a base transceiver station. In one aspect, the system is integrated with circuitry at the distributed telecommunications site, and includes an electrical power supplying device, a low voltage disconnect and a relay coupled with a DC bus. Additionally, the failsafe protection system includes a first circuit pathway coupling the base transceiver station electronics to the low voltage disconnect and a second circuit pathway coupling the network interface unit to the DC bus through the relay. Both the low voltage disconnect and the relay selectively control the coupling of the base transceiver station and the network interface unit, respectively, with the DC bus.

  • Patent number: 6354220
Abstract: An underwater explosive device, comprising a first container containing an explosive suitable for underwater use, and a second container surrounding the first container and containing oxygen gas under a pressure sufficient to enhance the underwater explosive reaction of the explosive.

  • Patent number: 4543872
Abstract: A blast attenuator device is disclosed comprising a collapsible/inflatable cylinder for containment of a body of foam therein. The cylinder is provided with a slitted floor such that the explosive device to be contained can be inserted therethrough. The blast attenuator is self contained and is provided with a compressed gas cannister for inflating the cylinder and foam generating cannister for automatically dispensing foam into the cylinder. The blast attenuator device can be deflated and compactly rolled up from a cylinder eight feet in height and eight feet in diameter to a bundle approximately four feet long for convenient storage and transport. Once the blast attenuator has been unpacked and placed over the explosive device, the inflating device can be turned on, the cylinder automatically inflates, and the foam cannister automatically dispenses foam after cylinder inflation to a specified height.
