Publication number: 20100245040Abstract: An improved garage door opener transmitter has a housing with a manually actuable member outside the housing. The transmitter actuating circuitry disposed in the housing. The transmitter circuit is adapted to send a signal to a receiver of a garage mounted opener unit to move a garage door having an open position and a closed position from a current position thereof to the other position. The improvement is a visually-observable indicium having first and second conditions. The indicium is connected to the actuable member and actuation thereof toggles the indicium from a current position thereof to the other position. In some embodiments, a non-visual indicium is also used.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Inventor: Kenneth J. Greves

Patent number: 7370602Abstract: A highly reflective arrowhead traffic sign is provided which exhibits an arrow shape to “aim” traffic away from a lane. A horizontal longitudinal member has at least one pair of arrow-shaped “wings” that extend beyond the outer boundary of the horizontal member. The wing sets can be attached to the horizontal member by use of locating holes and mating pins, or they can be pivotally mounted on the horizontal member. The arrow wings can be shaped into a configuration that points to the left or to the right, or simultaneously point to both the left and right, thereby indicating to traffic that a lane is closed, and that traffic must go either left or right to avoid the closed lane. The signs can be mounted in different ways, using hooks with suction cups or traffic cones, or using built-in magnets.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2004Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: RTS, LLCInventor: Kenneth J. Patent number: 6948446Abstract: A highly reflective arrowhead traffic sign is provided which exhibits an arrow shape to “aim” traffic to one side or the other along a roadway. A horizontal longitudinal member has at least one pair of arrow-shaped “wings” that extend beyond the outer boundary of the horizontal member. The wing sets can be attached to the horizontal member by use of locating holes and mating pins, or they can be pivotally mounted on the horizontal member. The arrow wings can be shaped into a configuration that points to the left or to the right, or they can be placed on both ends of the horizontal member and simultaneously point to both the left and right, thereby indicating to traffic that a lane is closed, and that traffic must go either left or right to avoid the closed lane.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2003Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: RTS, LLCInventor: Kenneth J. Patent number: 6578746Abstract: A golf ball marker holder is provided that can be placed upon the top surface of a golfer's shoe and attached to the shoe by sliding the shoe lace of the golfer's shoe up a slot, past a retaining structure, and into a receiving area, after which the shoe lace is tightened and the golf ball marker holder is retained in place. The holder is of a unitary structure having two major portions, in which these two portions are pivotally attached to one another to form an upper and lower portion that forms a slot therebetween. This slot is used to receive the shoe lace of a golfer's shoe, and the holder is maneuvered to slide the shoe lace through the slot and into a receiving area. Once the shoe lace reaches that receiving area, the shoe lace will be retained by a corner structure within the slot, which will not allow the shoe lace to easily slide back out of the slot.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2000Date of Patent: June 17, 2003Assignee: Ceza, LLCInventor: Kenneth J. Patent number: 5967095Abstract: An illuminated pet leash is provided which includes an elongated strap having at least one side, a first end adapted for connection to a collar, and a second end forming a handle. A relatively flat and flexible light source is provided along one side of the strap for illuminating the leash. The light source is operated by a power source attached to the strap. The light source may be either permanently or releasably attached to the strap. In another embodiment, the elongated leash strap has first and second sides, and two light sources extend along both sides. In yet another embodiment, the elongated strap is round in cross-section, and the light source spirals around the circumference of the strap for the extent of the leash. In another embodiment, the illuminated pet leash includes an elongated strap having at least one side, and first and second ends. One end of the strap is attached to a handle having a grip portion and a housing portion with first and second sides.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1998Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Inventor: Kenneth J. Patent number: 5820293Abstract: A vehicle tire deflation device comprises a base, a plurality of hollow vehicle tire deflating quills removably secured to the base, and structure, including a curved portion and a flat portion, operably associated with the base, for positioning the device in a tire penetrating orientation so as to penetrate a tire of a vehicle as the tire rolls over the device, upon the device being positioned on a road surface adjacent the vehicle tire to be deflated in a non-tire penetrating orientation; such that the device rolls on the curved portion from the non tire penetrating orientation and comes to rest on the flat portion in the tire penetrating orientation. The device may include a member, operably associated with the base, for removably securing the quills to the base, such that a rolling vehicle tire which embeds one of the quills therein will cause the embedded quill to sever the member and separate from the base, the separated quill thereby remaining in the tire as the tire rolls over the base.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1996Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Stop Stick, Ltd.Inventors: Louis M. Patent number: 5452962Abstract: A tire-puncturing apparatus is disclosed which can be placed on a road surface in front of a moving vehicle such as an automobile. The apparatus has a collapsible outer cover which makes it safe to handle the apparatus before its use, yet being collapsible, does not impede the operation of the apparatus in puncturing the tires of the target moving vehicle. The apparatus also has a flexible interior cover made of rip-resistant material. A special three-piece spike is used to first penetrate the tire's surface and then embed a hollow quill in the tread of the tire such that the tire will deflate at a controlled rate, rather than causing a blowout and subsequent loss of control of the vehicle. The tire-puncturing apparatus is designed to be easily carried in the trunk of a police vehicle, and has an optional mating connector such that two or more of the tire-puncturing devices can be rigidly connected together to cover a larger portion of the road surface.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1994Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignee: Stop Stick, Inc.Inventor: Kenneth J.
