  • Patent number: 5825427
Abstract: The present invention addresses problems of dealing with video formats in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios by providing an image display system having an aspect ratio between the 4:3 aspect ratio of the standard National Television System Committee (NTSC) and the soon to be implemented 16:9 aspect ratio of High Definition TV (HDTV). In a first embodiment, the apparatus utilizes a video screen having a substantially rectangular configuration having an aspect ratio being between 1.4:1 and 1.7:1. In a more preferred embodiment, the image display system includes a video screen having an aspect ratio being between 1.5:1 and 1.6:1. In an even more preferred embodiment, the video screen of the image display system optimally has an aspect ratio of (square root of 64/27):1.0.

  • Patent number: 5794966
Abstract: A vehicular suspension system having at least one pair of shock absorbers. Each of the shock absorbers of the pair includes a housing defining top and bottom ends and a fluid filled interior chamber, upper and lower ports in communication with the interior chamber, and a piston disposed in the interior chamber which is reciprocally movable through upward and downward strokes therewithin. The lower port of a first shock absorber of the pair is fluidly connected to the upper port of a second shock absorber of the pair via a first fluid line. Similarly, the lower port of the second shock absorber is fluidly connected to the upper port of the first shock absorber via a second fluid line.

  • Patent number: 3936757
Abstract: An automatic gate control system for automatically controlling the gate of a multifunction counter for maximum resolution within a fixed maximum time limit includes a Gate Control Apparatus for Setting the Input Signal Counting Interval patented by Ian T. Band and disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,693,097 issued Sept. 19, 1972, a timer responsive to a Q output of a D-type flip-flop and serially connected with an input of an OR gate and a Q output of the D-type flip-flop. The OR gate applies a set signal to a second flip-flop having a Q output coupled to a "D" input of the first flip-flop.
