  • Patent number: 5452818
Abstract: A one-piece closure for resealing and repressurizing an opened beverage container is provided. The closure comprises a body portion with an annular skirt integral to and descending therefrom. The closure further comprises an annular flange integral to and extending radially inward from the annular skirt. The flange provides an air-tight seal with the sides of a beverage container. The closure is reusable and is especially useful with standard tab-top soda containers.

  • Patent number: 4669206
Abstract: A manual snow clearing tool includes a snow clearing blade formed by an elongated rectangular strip of flexible material placed in a flexed state and a handle connected to the strip to restrain and maintain it in its flexed state in which it forms the blade in a generally parabolic configuration. The blade formed by the strip is disposed with its height dimension extending upright from, and its length dimension extending parallel to, a surface to be cleared of snow. Also, rear portions and a forward arcuate portion of the flexed strip together define a forward snow plowing portion and a snow gathering cavity which is open at its top, bottom and rear end. The handle has laterally spaced apart lower ends which connect the rear portions of the flexible strip so as to maintain the rear strip portions in spaced apart relation such that the strip and the blade formed thereby naturally assumes the parabolic curvature.

  • Patent number: 4570366
Abstract: A long wearing plow blade which automatically overrides road surface irregularities and obstacles and returns to a snow-engaging position is provided which may be mounted on either the moldboard of a conventional snow plow or on the plow of the present invention. The improved snow plow of the present invention has a substantially horizontal deck trailing the plow blade. A vertically extending deflector baffle with a forwardly-extending upper lip which is integral with the deck guides snow to the side of the plow. The deflector baffle initially tangentially contacts snow being plowed, and in combination with the deck, results in a plow which is less susceptible to the formation of vision-obscuring clouds of snow and side slip when in use.

  • Patent number: 4306968
Abstract: A sewage treatment system comprising means defining a receptacle including at least one chamber for receiving a body of sewage composed of liquid and solids the top of which is exposed to air, means for applying air, under pressure, immediately below the upper surface of said body of sewage in said one chamber, at an angle thereto to physically lift portions of said sewage from the upper surface of said body thereof in a spray form, thereby to expose said lifted portions to air and to infuse said portions with oxygen, the nature and angle of application of the air being effective at the same time to induce a current in the body of sewage having a downward spiral and an ever-decreasing velocity, said current being effective to induce suspended solids to be driven to the bottom of said chamber together with the heavy solids settled thereon, thereby to facilitate an extremely rapid aerobic digestion.
