  • Patent number: 6949166
Abstract: “Products made from a process for increasing the tactile properties of a base web without adversely affecting the strength of the web is disclosed. In general, the process includes the steps of placing a base web in between a first moving conveyor and a second moving conveyor. The conveyors are then wrapped around a shear inducing roll which creates shear forces that act upon the base web. The shear forces disrupt the web increasing the softness and decreasing the stiffness of the web. The shear inducing roll typically has a relatively small diameter. In some applications, more than one shear inducing roll may be incorporated into the system.

Date of Patent: September 27, 2005
    Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6585856
Abstract: A method of controlling the degree of molding of a paper web during formation of a tissue product is provided. Initially, a liquid furnish of papermaking fibers is deposited onto a foraminous surface. The web is transferred to a through-drying fabric having a three-dimensional surface contour. In one embodiment, during transfer, the wet web is deflected onto the through-drying fabric so that it is molded to the surface contours of the fabric. The degree of molding is controlled by increasing or decreasing the solids consistency of the web without changing the deflection pressure or force.

  • Patent number: 5383606
Abstract: A fuel injection valve and method for adjusting the static fuel quantity output ejected during the steady opening state of the fuel injection valve. In the method according to the invention, the static fuel quantity is adjusted directly in the otherwise completely installed fuel injection valve, so that a variation on the static fuel quantity of the various fuel injection valves is minimized. To this end, a throttle device, serving to meter the fuel and whose free flow cross section is variable, is provided upstream of the valve seat. The method according to the invention is suitable for fuel injection valves of various kinds.

  • Patent number: 5232167
Abstract: An injection valve, which overcomes residual magnetic forces and cohesive forces that act between the armature and the core to make the armature stick to the core, impeding the closing motion of the valve needle. The injection valve has a spring adjusting sleeve and a stroke adjusting sleeve for the separate adjustment of the spring force of a restoring spring and of the stroke of the valve needle: these sleeves are disposed in a through bore of a valve end cap. The stroke of the valve needle is limited by a downstream end face of the stroke adjusting sleeve, which when the injection valve is fully open rests on an upstream face end of a fastening segment of the valve needle. A remanent air gap is left between the armature and the core. The novel injection valve is especially suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing internal combustion engines with externally supplied ignition.
