Patent number: 9750191Abstract: Provided is an electro-hydraulic drive system including first and second electro-hydraulic transmissions for driving respective wheels, the transmissions each including an electric motor, a hydraulic pump driven by the electric motor, and a hydraulic motor drive by the hydraulic pump. When used in a turf vehicle, such as a zero-turn-radius mower, the electro-hydraulic drive system operates the wheels independently from an engine of the mower, thereby allowing the mower to be moved without having to start the engine. In this way, power consumption is lowered and total efficiency of the mower is increased.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2016Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: Parker-Hannifin CorporationInventors: Jason Scot Richardson, Ryan Schroeder, Victor Connor, Kenneth Jackson

Publication number: 20080118933Abstract: Human ?2-antiplasmin (?2AP) is the major inhibitor of the proteolytic enzyme plasmin that digests fibrin. Two forms of ?2AP circulate in human plasma: a 464-residue protein, which we have termed “pro”-form, or ?2APpro and an N-terminally-shortened 452-residue “activated”-form, or ?2APact. The latter becomes crosslinked to fibrin by activated factor XIII about 5-fold more rapidly than ?2APpro and makes fibrin resistant to digestion by plasmin. A new human plasma proteinase has been identified herein that cleaves the Pro12-Asn13 bond of ?2APpro to yield ?2APact. This enzyme is identified herein as Antiplasmin Cleaving Enzyme (APCE). Novel inhibitors of circulating APCE can diminish ?2AP inhibitory capacity within forming fibrin or blood clots thereby making fibrin deposits or blood clots more susceptible to removal by plasmin.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2007Publication date: May 22, 2008Inventors: Patrick McKee, Kyung Lee, Kenneth Jackson, Victoria Christiansen

Publication number: 20080057491Abstract: The present invention is directed toward inhibitors of antiplasmin cleaving enzyme for use in various therapies related to fibrin and ?2-antiplasmin, and to substrates of APCE, which may be used, for example, in screening methods for identifying such inhibitors. The present invention is further directed to methods of treating or inhibiting atherosclerosis and thrombus disorders by altering the rations of types of plasma ?2-antiplasmin.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Inventors: Patrick McKee, Kyung Lee, Kenneth Jackson, Victoria Christiansen

Publication number: 20050232222Abstract: A method and system for providing services in communications networks. A gateway layer determines information about a communication session and responsively sends a signaling message to a session manager, providing the information. The session manager may then send a signaling message to a service agent, also providing the information. The service agent may in turn apply a set of service logic based at least in part on the information, so as to derive a service treatment, and the service agent may send a signaling message so as to cause an enforcement engine (such as the gateway or session manager) to carry out the service treatment. Advantageously, this arrangement may facilitate imposition of services across various types of communication sessions (such as voice sessions and/or data sessions) and access networks (such as circuit-switched and/or packet-switched), at session initiation and during the course of an ongoing session. A variety of useful services may thereby be provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2005Publication date: October 20, 2005Applicant: Sprint Spectrum L.P.Inventors: Von McConnell, Kenneth Jackson, Bryce Jones

Publication number: 20050072758Abstract: A device used to disable hypodermic needles uses a power supply (10) and two electrodes (12,14) in a housing. One electrode is placed over the other electrode and slants down towards the other. A collar is used to ensure that when the hypodermic needle is inserted in the device, it will hit the electrodes at the proper point When the hypodermic needle contacts both electrodes, electricity will flow from the power supply through the lower electrode and up the needle to the top electrode. The electrical resistance of the needle is very high so that it quickly heats up to cause disintegration of the needle.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2002Publication date: April 7, 2005Inventors: Kenneth Jackson, Robert Ochsendorf, Dane Donohue

Patent number: 4453076Abstract: The invention concerns use of a Geiger-Muller tube, gamma-ray detector, specifically, the method and apparatus for reducing the "dead-time" of that detector. The tube's anode is alternately connectable to either a high or low voltage through one of a pair of transistorized switches. The higher voltage is sufficient to permit ionization of the gas in the tube while the lower voltage is too low to sustain ionization. The tube is normally connected to the higher voltage source. The initial ionization of the gas in the tube by gamma-rays produces an initially small voltage drop in the anode voltage which is amplified by an amplifier, the output of which actuates a monostable driven circuit to generate a pulse having a width of 3 to 10 microseconds, preferably 5 to 6 microseconds. The leading edge of that pulse momentarily turns on the transistor switch connecting the anode to the lower voltage so that the potential is lowered thereby draining away energy and inhibiting further ionization.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1981Date of Patent: June 5, 1984Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries LimitedInventors: Kenneth Jackson, Nigel P.
