  • Patent number: 11974327
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) for supporting multiple-universal subscriber identity module (multi-USIM) operations among a first base station associated with a first network and a second base station associated with a second network is disclosed. the UE includes one or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon, and at least one processor coupled to the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media. The processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to transmit, through transmitting circuitry of the UE, a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble to the second base station associated with the second network. The PRACH preamble indicates to the second base station that the UE is not to begin a connection establishment procedure with the second network.

  • Publication number: 20240121808
Abstract: A method for a first UE to perform sidelink communication with a second UE is provided. The method initiates a sidelink channel with the second UE based on a first resource set in a plurality of resource sets stored in the first UE. The method then performs a ranging process to identify at least a first distance between the first UE and the second UE when the sidelink channel between the first and second UEs is established. The method further sets a timer based on at least the identified first distance, the timer for determining when to initiate a subsequent sidelink channel with the second UE. when the timer is expired, the method initiates the subsequent sidelink channel with the second UE and performs a subsequent ranging process to identify at least a second distance between the first UE and the second UE.

  • Publication number: 20240107557
Abstract: A method for a first UE to perform sidelink communication with a second UE is provided. The method receives a first resource set from a cell to establish a first sidelink channel with the second UE, the first resource set indicating at least a first distance between the first and second UEs. The method establishes the first sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set and transmits a set of parameters associated with the first sidelink channel to the cell. The method also sets a first timer based on at least the first distance, the first timer for determining when to establish a second sidelink channel with the second UE. When the first timer is expired and no second resource set is received from the cell, the method establishes the second sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set.

  • Publication number: 20230362612
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) comprises reception circuitry configured to receive system information from a cell, the system information comprising: one or more network identifiers, each of the one or more network identifiers identifying a public land mobile networks (PLMN) or a Non-Public Networks (NPN); and cell status information. The UE also comprises processing circuitry configured to determine whether the cell status information indicates that the cell is barred or to be treated as barred for the UE. In a case that a Public Warning System (PWS) broadcast service is supported by the cell, the UE is allowed to camp on the cell for receiving one or more PWS messages, even if the cell status information indicates that the cell is barred or to be treated as barred for the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230300822
Abstract: A method for a UE is provided. The method transmits to a second UE a first PRS in a first set of symbols of a first slot of a first BWP and determines that a second PRS is to be transmitted in a second BWP that overlaps the first BWP in the time domain. The method receives information to determine whether the second UE is capable of successfully decoding the first and second PRSs. When the method determines that the second UE is not capable of such, the method modifies a scheduling of transmission of the second PRS by identifying a second set of symbols of a second slot of the second BWP for carrying the second PRS, such that a start of a first symbol of the second set of symbols follows an end of a second symbol of the first set of symbols in the time domain.

  • Patent number: 9843988
Abstract: A method for determining whether to attempt to attach to a network by a machine type communication (MTC) device is described. A triggering event is detected. A radio frame is received from a base station. The radio frame includes a current access class of the base station. The radio frame is the first radio frame to include the current access class after the triggering event. It is determined if the MTC device has access privileges to the base station. It is then decided whether to attempt to attach to a network based on if the MTC device has access privileges.
