  • Patent number: 9695667
Abstract: An electrical submersible pump system includes an electric motor operably coupled to a fluid pump which includes first and second fluid ports. The first and second ports are selectively operable as a fluid intake and a fluid discharge of the fluid pump with reversal of a direction of rotation of the fluid pump. Valves in the system are controllable to selectively direct fluid discharge of the fluid pump to an inflation volume of the inflatable packer and toward the surface in a wellbore tubing. The valves are further controllable to vent pressure in the inflation volume to deflate the packer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2014
Date of Patent: July 4, 2017
    Assignee: ZiLift Holdings, Ltd.
Inventors: Kenneth John Sears, Jamie Cochran
  • Patent number: 9482282
Abstract: A bearing for a rotary machine includes an inner sleeve providing a first bearing surface and an outer sleeve circumscribing the inner sleeve and providing a second bearing surface in opposing relation to the first bearing surface. The bearing includes at least one tolerance ring for retaining the inner sleeve on a rotor shaft of the rotary machine and another tolerance ring for retaining the outer sleeve on a stator of the rotary machine.

  • Publication number: 20160049845
Abstract: A rotor shaft includes at least two rotor modules each having a body. Each rotor module has a first longitudinal end including a first torque transmitting feature and a second longitudinal end including a second torque transmitting feature. The rotor module body has a plurality of flats formed on a surface thereof. A magnet is mounted on one or more flat in each of the at least two rotor modules. A sleeve is fitted over the magnets to retain the magnets on the flats.

  • Publication number: 20020029846
Abstract: An automobile structure includes a first extruded structural member with longitudinally extending ribs on an exterior surface, and a second structural member joined to the first structural member with adhesive, wherein the depth of the adhesive between the first and second structural members varies with variations in the cross-section of the first structural member, and the ribs define a gap of a specified depth between facing surfaces of the two joined structural members to enhance the performance of the adhesive bond.

  • Patent number: 6294043
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacture of a structure which comprises a plurality of structural members bonded together, the method comprising the steps of extruding a first structural member with a chosen cross section, and joining the first structural member to a second structural member by bonding with an adhesive, wherein the depth of the adhesive between the structural members is chosen so as to enhance the performance of the adhesive bond. The present invention also provides a method of manufacture of a structure wherein the first structural member is provided on a first surface with a plurality of spaced-apart exterior ribs which abut an adjacent surface on the second structural member and which define between them a gap for receiving adhesive, whereby the ribs define a chosen depth of adhesive in order to optimize the bond between the first and second structural members.
