  • Publication number: 20080011928
Abstract: A hanger assembly configured to mount a fan housing in a building including a first support having a lower surface and a second support. The hanger includes a body having a first end engageable with the first support and a second end engageable with the second support. The body is connectable to the fan housing to support the fan housing between the first and second supports and is adjustable to change a length defined between the first and second ends. The first end includes an outwardly extending flange, which is engageable with the first support to orient the body and the fan housing relative to the lower surface of the first support and to maintain a predetermined distance between the lower surface of the support and a lower surface of one of the fan housing and the hanger body.

  • Publication number: 20050246989
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a backsplash for protecting a first surface adjacent a work surface. In some embodiments, the backsplash includes a layer of tiles having a front surface exposed and resistant to byproducts of work performed on the work surface. In some embodiments, the layer of tiles are coupled together for installation and removal from the first surface as a single integral unit. Also, in some embodiments the backsplash includes a mount positioned to releasably and removably couple the backsplash to the first surface in at least one location between the backsplash and the first surface. The mount can retain the layer of tiles in a substantially perpendicular relationship with respect to the work surface when the backsplash is in the mounted position upon the first surface. Also, some embodiments of the present invention provide a method of releaseably coupling a backsplash to a first surface adjacent a work surface.

  • Publication number: 20050111840
Abstract: A ventilating and heating apparatus for installation in a building structure. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a main housing in which is located a ventilating fan assembly and a heater fan assembly having a heater and a discharge duct terminating in a discharge outlet, wherein the heater is located within and connected to the discharge duct of the heater fan assembly. The heater can be shielded from the discharge outlet by at least one interior wall of the discharge duct. In some embodiments, the discharge duct can have a tapered portion approaching the discharge outlet.

  • Patent number: 4036697
Abstract: A kinetic assay is provided for measuring alpha-amylase content in aqueous solutions. The assay is based on the following reactions:alpha-1,4 linked glucan .sup.alpha-amylase alpha-maltosealpha-maltose + PO.sub.4 .sup.-.sup.-.sup.- .sup.MP Glucose + beta-D-G-1-Pbeta-D-G-1-P .sup.beta-PGM G-6-PG-6-P + NAD .sup.G6PDH 6-P-G + NADHthe concentration of alpha-amylase is determined by measuring the rate of increase in absorbance associated with the production of NADH which is a measure of the activity of alpha-amylase.A novel reagent system is used with the assay and comprises:A polysaccharide having glucose molecules primarily connected through alpha 1,4 linkageMaltose phosphorylase (MP)Phosphate ions (PO.sub.4 .sup.-.sup.-.sup.
