  • Patent number: 6094029
Abstract: A rechargeable power pack comprises a housing, an energy storage device received in the housing, and a set of contacts extending from the housing and electrically coupled to the energy storage device to provide an electrical input current to the energy storage device at a first time and an electrical output current from the energy storage device at a second time. The electrical contacts are preferably formed as a set of prongs sized and dimensioned to be received in a standard electrical outlet. The rechargeable power pack may contain a charging circuit, a discharging circuit, and a switch to selectively couple the charging circuit and the discharging circuit between the contacts and the energy storage device. Additional circuitry may be provided for decoupling the charging circuit when either a voltage, temperature, or time has exceeded some predefined value.

  • Patent number: 5798509
Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus for scanning a field of view for two-dimensional data and for rapidly processing the data. There is a video device viewing the field of view and producing a two-dimensional matrix of pixel data as an output representing a plurality of pixel positions of the field of view. A digital memory receives and holds the two-dimensional matrix of pixel data output from the video device in a plurality of multiple pixel data words. There is also a digital processor including a register for receiving pixel data and logic for processing data to decode it. Primarily, there is pixelizer logic and associated circuitry connected between the digital memory and the digital processor for removing data associated with a specified pixel position within the field of view from an associated one of the plurality of multiple pixel data words in the digital memory and for placing the data into a pre-established bit position within the register of the digital processor.

  • Patent number: 4341996
Abstract: A speed measuring apparatus is provided for indicating a percentage of noal full speed RPM of a jet engine and also for indicating time required for accelerating and decelerating the engine. A generator output is converted to a square wave and a time interval measurement is made between zero crossings of the square wave. The square wave controls the starting and stopping of a time period counter and measured time is converted to percent RPM which is displayed on a digital incandescent display. Similar time periods are measured when the engine is advanced from idle to full power, and also when the engine is retarded from full power to idle.
