  • Patent number: 11790860
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing image motion artifact correction for a color sequential (CS) display in a display system in a vehicle. The system includes a processor operationally coupled to a source of a coherent RGB image frame, a source of a line of sight (LOS) motion rate, and the display system, the processor configured to, calculate a sub-frame (SF) timing rate for the CS display; unpack the coherent RGB image frame into a Red, a Green, and a Blue frame; calculate a red, a green, and a blue pixel shift, as a function of a LOS rate change; apply the red pixel shift to the Red frame, the green pixel shift to the Green frame, and the blue pixel shift to the Blue frame, thereby creating modified RGB sub-frames; and re-packing the modified RGB sub-frames into a modified coherent RGB image frame for the CS display.

  • Patent number: 11726340
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that include a video processing system associated with a vehicle. The video processing system receives video data from at least one camera mounted to the vehicle, the video data representing an external scene, receives motion data, a virtual gaze direction of viewing of the external scene and a direction of facing of a head of a user. The video data is transformed based at least on a disparity between the virtual gaze direction and the direction of facing and based on the motion data. The transformed video data is displayed on a display device of the user.

  • Patent number: 11573420
Abstract: An augmented display system with dynamic see-through transmittance control is disclosed. The augmented display system includes: an augmented display screen; a tandem electrochromic (EC) filter disposed over the augmented display screen. The tandem EC filter includes a first window having a dominant first transmittance characteristic and a second window having a dominant second transmittance characteristic; and an augmented display transmittance controller configured to individually control the activation of the first window and the second window of the tandem EC filter, wherein the augmented display transmittance controller is configured to: determine from an ambient light sensor output the transmittance required from the first window and the second window for a selected augmented display luminance; and apply appropriate drive voltage waveforms to the first window and the second window to achieve the determined transmittance.

  • Publication number: 20220246048
Abstract: An image processing system for generating a display for a vehicle. The image processing system receives images, respectively, from a plurality of cameras mounted on the vehicle. The field of view of the plurality of cameras at least partially overlaps. The field of view of one or more of the plurality of cameras includes a region underneath the vehicle. The images are transformed to a common reference plane using a perspective transformation algorithm and based on intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of the plurality of cameras, to thereby obtain a projected image. The projected image is projected to the common reference plane. A display is generated based on the projected image. The display includes a synthetic depiction of the vehicle including an outer profile. The display includes an image area within the outer profile that is based on the projected image for the region underneath the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11403058
Abstract: Systems and Methods are provided for displaying flight data parameters to aircrew members of an aircraft. The system includes a first display for a pilot flying (PF) that shows computer generated images of flight data parameters that are designated for the PF. A second display is used for a pilot monitoring (PM) that shows computer generated images of flight data parameters that are designated for the PM. An augmented reality vision system (ARVS) re-assigns the displays of designated computer generated images of flight data parameters between the first display and the second display according to instructions by the PF or the PM.
