  • Patent number: 7108401
Abstract: A specialized lighting fixture, such as a framing projector provided with a plurality of adjustable framing shutters, is modified to incorporate a pair of locking rings, surrounding the body of the lighting fixture and positioned on opposite sides of outwardly projecting portions of the framing shutters. After initial adjustment of the framing shutters has been completed, the locking rings are tightly compressed together, as by locking screws positioned between adjacent pairs of framing shutters, to lock the shutters in position against unintended dislodgment. For lighting fixtures of non-uniform shape, the locking rings may be made in two parts, preferably hinged together, which are secured together after being positioned on the housing of the lighting fixture. The locking rings are particularly adapted for retrofit installation on lighting fixtures of existing design.

  • Patent number: 7011439
Abstract: An adjustable spotlight fitting for use with an illuminated fiber optic bundle. A spherically contoured pivot element is received within a pivot housing and retained therein by an adjustable locking ring which clamps the pivot element in any angularly adjusted position. A focusing member is mounted by the pivot element for limited axial adjusting movement in relation thereto. A fiber optic bundle is inserted through the back of the pivot element and the exposed optical fibers at its terminal end are positioned within the focusing member. A lens, carried at the outer end of the focusing member, is movable by the focusing member toward and away from the fiber optic bundle for converging and expanding the area of illumination. Optical filters can be selectively installed behind the lens for various lighting effects.

  • Patent number: 6942368
Abstract: An accessory cartridge for removable reception in a specialized lighting fixture. A circular cartridge ring is provided with an internal lower flange, for supporting one or more flat, circular, disc-like accessory elements, such as filters. Retainer clips are positioned to engage at least the uppermost one of the disc-like accessory elements, such that one or more of the disc-like accessory elements may be easily installed within the cartridge ring and the entire series thereof automatically retained therein by engagement of at least the uppermost accessory element. The entire cartridge is designed to be bodily installed in or removed from the lighting fixture, to facilitate expeditious changing of accessory elements utilized with the lighting fixture. Preferentially, the lighting fixture is provided with a hingedly connected front barrel portion, which is constructed to receive and support the cartridge.
