  • Publication number: 20240093832
Abstract: A steam trap includes a body having a flow passageway therethrough between an inlet connectable to a steam pipeline and an outlet connectable to a condensate drain line. The flow passageway has a first flow restriction defined by a first venturi orifice to pass condensate therethrough while restricting the flow of live steam, and a second flow restriction, downstream of the first flow restriction. The second flow restriction is adapted to allow condensate flow therethrough while restricting the flow of flash steam.

    Publication date: March 21, 2024

  • Patent number: 9188283
Abstract: A monitoring apparatus for monitoring the temperature of a body, the apparatus having a housing defining a volume of air exposed to the body, a temperature sensor being located within the volume of air at a position remote from the body whereby the temperature of the body can be determined. In one embodiment the housing defines a substantially vertically arranged flue exposed at its lower end to the body, the temperature sensor being located within the flue, at least one air inlet being provided in the flue positioned below the temperature sensor, at least one air outlet being provided in the flue positioned above the temperature sensor, whereby the body, when heated, may initiate a rising column of air within the flue due to convection when the temperature of the body is greater than the ambient temperature, the temperature sensor being exposed to said rising column of air.

  • Patent number: 8515034
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively allowing calls to a device, such as a fax machine, that may receive calls on a signal line. The apparatus is arranged to, upon detecting an incoming call, initiate a blocking period during which the incoming call is prevented from reaching the device, and to terminate the blocking period when a predetermined threshold, for example a number of rings or period of time, has elapsed, and upon termination of the blocking period to initiate said enabled time period. Hence, incoming calls are not prevented from reaching the device if their duration exceeds the predetermined threshold. The apparatus helps to reduce the number of unwanted calls being received since spam calls commonly emanate from automated sending devices with a ring duration that is typically less than that of legitimate callers.

  • Patent number: 8502685
Abstract: An anti-theft alarm for a liquid storage tank, said alarm comprising a housing having means for securing the housing to the storage tank, said housing containing a motion and/or vibration sensor for detecting tampering with the liquid storage tank, an alarm means and a control means for activating the alarm means in response to a signal from the motion/vibration sensor.

  • Patent number: 8121273
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively allowing calls to a device, especially a facsimile machine, that may receive calls on a signal line. The apparatus detects an incoming call on the signal line and allows the incoming call to reach the device if received during an enabled time period but prevents the incoming call from reaching the device if received outside the enabled time period. The apparatus may be configured to prevent a first incoming call, detected outside said enabled period, from reaching said device and subsequently to initiate said enabled time period.
