  • Publication number: 20060258195
Abstract: A connectivity system capable of use with a desk (199) having a surface containing an aperture (120) includes a grommet (210, 610, 1010, 1210) and a connection hub (220, 620, 1020, 1220). The grommet has an interior surface (212, 612, 1012, 1212). The connection hub includes a connection port (221, 621, 1121, 1321) and a perimeter (222, 622, 1022, 1222). The surface of the desk defines a first plane (150) that forms a division between a first side (160) of the first plane and a second side (170) of the first plane. A portion of the perimeter of the connection hub is spaced apart from the interior surface of the grommet such that the perimeter and the interior surface define a passageway (310, 710, 720, 1070, 1080, 1270) therebetween through which a cable may be passed from the first side to the second side of the surface of the desk.

  • Publication number: 20060196995
Abstract: A cable management device includes a clamping mechanism (110) suitable for attachment to a surface. The clamping mechanism comprises an annular portion (111) having an outside surface (114), an inside surface (115) that forms a perimeter of a cavity (118) interior to the annular portion, a first terminus (116), and a second terminus (117) disposed opposite the first terminus. The first terminus and the second terminus define a gap (151) between them. In one embodiment, the cable management device further comprises a membrane (120, 220) attached to the clamping mechanism at the inside surface, where the membrane contains a first opening (121). In the same or another embodiment, the cable management device further comprises a slot (140) in the annular portion of the clamping mechanism. Both the membrane and the slot enhance the cable management features of the cable management device.

  • Publication number: 20060180716
Abstract: A cable clip includes a first channel (110) capable of receiving a first cable and a second channel (120) capable of receiving a second cable. The first channel includes a first sidewall (111), a second sidewall (112), and a first segment (113) bridging the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The second channel includes the second sidewall, a third sidewall (121), and a second segment (123) bridging the second sidewall and the third sidewall. At least one of the first and second channels includes an identification region (130). A window (140) may be provided in at least one of the channels.

  • Patent number: 7083421
Abstract: An electrical connectivity system capable of being mounted to an object includes a housing (110), a mounting mechanism (120) integrated with the housing, and a power cord (130). The housing includes an electrical connection port (111) and a cavity (112) capable of engaging the object. The mounting mechanism is integrated with the housing and is capable of retaining the cavity in engagement with the object. The power cord is also integrated with the housing and is capable of delivering electric power to the electrical connection port. In an alternate embodiment, an electrical connectivity system includes a housing (310) having an electrical connection port (311) and a mounting bracket (320) having a mounting mechanism (350) and a cavity (340). The mounting bracket may be coupled to the housing using apertures in the mounting bracket and the housing.
